Why No Mantra Builds?
The only mantra build that I could see being of any use is having Mantra of Pain (direct damage one) with 1 second recharge, and traited for healing. You get a decent 3k heal every 5-6 seconds to everyone around you, if you smash that button fast enough. This is a fairly powerful support tool, IMO. but it still leaves 4 seconds of charging up the mantra.
At least they’re instant casts, which means you can cast a charged mantra while using other skills. Charging a mantra doesn’t get interrupted if you cast another, already charged mantra. And you can trait for increased toughness while charging them.
Same for shatter skills I believe, and maybe some signets.

Mantra builds are just like a signet build on a warrior : while being quite efficient, it’s incredibly boring.
Just as the signet build, a 30/30 mantra build is my favourite farming build. It allows a complete shutdown of your brain.
I think I would enjoy mantras more if there was a way to charge them faster. The amount of time not spent being able to do anything just doesn’t seem to justify the effect they have.
Easymode: are you on SBI? I find your posts extremely helpful/informative.
Turtles: If you’re running a lot of mantras, you can use mantras while you charge other mantras. It’s definitely “different” from other builds. It’s busy, but a different kind of busy for this class (i’ve messed around with the 30/30 a bit, it’s more fun than I expected). The main downside is as easy said, very low mobility overall and the shatters are weak for me as I am used to either playing a crit shatter or condition shatter build.

And it also heals all allies, including some NPC’s and if I’m not mistaken your clones and phantasms too. Need to check although for the clones and phantasms.
It’s not uncommon to spread out between 10 and 15+k healing on one recharge. around you with a couple of nice 2.5k. With using healing mantra and mantra of pain you can have a 2*2.5+ k healing around you on someone in 4 secs. For you it’s 8 secs (double recharge) but for the one receiving the heals it looks like 4s.

Yes, it heals everything in range. Phantasms, Clones, NPCs, minions, everything, with no limit to the number of targets.
