I run something very similar with a few tweeeks:

S/S + Staff
Focused less on cond. dmg more on direct/crit dmg.
Melandru runes plus minus condition duration food equals no more problems with stuns/cond. anymore…yea!

I leveled with a similar setup, though not using a scepter, and getting back to this type condition setup is a breath of fresh air. I just played around with sc+sw/staff in pve this morning and couldn’t believe just how quickly piles of mobs melted. I haven’t yet gathered exotic gear, but it’s already easy to see how well this setup melds together. I haven’t seen many people running this type setup, but I’d suggest that it definitely needs a try if conditions are of any interest.

Hi Kylun,
I found a great practice place for this build.
If you can solo this guy using the build, then I have the utmost confidence that you can use it effectively in any other situation.

PS: I defeated him once but don’t think I want to do it again since it takes a forever.

Hi everyone, just so you know, Signet of Domination – one of the key utility skills of this build – just got buffed in this latest patch. Check the patch notes here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/july-23-content-release-notes/?utm_source=client

Very nice build! It gave me inspiration for some time now for utilizing the extra clones that I keep making with scepter/sword combo. I assume the reason for no OH sword is because it’s a power weapon?

I know this is more condition damage and shatter oriented, but I’m gonna try to make a mix power/condition build with clone spamming and phantasm dps.

Thank you for sharing and making a great build!

Hi Phloww, glad that you enjoy the build.
Just some comments:
- This build is not a shatter build, you only shatter when you really need some burst (F1, F2), interrupt (F3), or F4 as last resort to save yourself. Most of the time you will let phantasms stick around and ensure the clones get killed or replaced as fast as possible.

- I haven’t tried to go hybrid but my full condition version works well with any OH from my experience, although it requires some adjustment to the playstyle.
+Pistol: CC heavy with solid stun, good for stacking bleed and confusion through our combo field
+Focus: you lose a solid stun but iWarden can stack bleeds like crazy if you can lock the target in place with Temporal Curtain and Signet of Domination. Good for area denial too. AoE confusion bolts is also a bonus, but I don’t rely heavily on that.
+Sword: it might look like an odd choice at first, but it works fairly well, more clone production with the block and both the block and the phantasm provide good sustained dmg to keep up the pressure. This choice of OH plays a bit more defensively and more about counterplay than the other two OHs.
+Torch: tbh I haven’t tried it, but the burn can be great with high condition damage.

I think i will wait until the Oct 15th patch so see if there is any major change and then will update this build thread accordingly to keep it updated with the meta.

Anyway, please let me know how you go with your hybrid version and share with us

Ah, so you’re being flexible of the shattering….I like it!

I agree that all 4 off-hands can work well with your build. I think scepter/sword or pistol combo would work well in a mix power/condition version, but yeah, I’m enjoying your build and once I finish testing my hybrid version, I’ll definitely share! ^^
