So what’s a decent crafting profession for a necro? I know tailoring is an obvious choice, but I already have another character on that and I don’t want to do the same thing twice. Suggestions?

Really the only use for crafting is legendary weapons and each legendary weapon requires two different crafts to be 400. So it really depends on which legendary weapon you are going for. Armor crafting is really just for making gear for alts because the chances of your skill level matching your character level are slim unless you have outside sources for gold. Cooking is just for the food buffs, its really just cheaper to buy the food on the auction than leveling cooking.

I rocked jeweler and tailor on mine, and I had no issues with out leveling the gear I made. It usually sat in my bags waiting on me to catch up to the gear to wear it. It made leveling much easier, always having level-appropriate gear. I relied on drops / heart vendors for weapon upgrades.

I disagree. I crafted all my gear, often 5 levels before I could use them. It takes a bit of discipline but it is fully possible. I did tailoringing ofc. At skill 300 or so you craft level 60-65 gear.

So far I’ve never had any issue keeping up with my character’s level gear-wise, and I love crafting my own bags…but is tailoring the only decent thing for a necro? There has to be something else.

No Wulfrim was correct. The only real use of crafting is to make legendary weapons -OR- use crafting exp to level your character quicker. There are some proffesions that you can use some of the stuff from ( like jewelry and such). But for the most part it is useless. You can go to the TP and buy upgrade gear for cheaper than you can make it. I have gotten 400 crafting in everything besides armor crafting. I did it mainly because going from 1-400 in a craft nets you about 10 levels.

Crafting your own armor is a waste of money.

I just buy all my sets of armor/weapons every 10 levels or so for stupid cheap, sell all my mats, etc.
