Dhuumfire: Change Burning to Torment
100% on crit. With a normal, say, 50% crit chance, it has the effect of a 1s ICD already.
If an ICD were forced into the skill, I think it should be lower than the duration of the torment caused by the trait. Otherwise it is an absolute damage drop off without much to compensate for it. Ten seconds of torment do not equal four seconds of burning.
Otherwise it is an absolute damage drop off without much to compensate for it.
Well, since the damage is supposed to be lower that would be the point, other than covering one less condition spot for cleansing.

Not accurate. DS 4, for example, can hit 5x per second, meaning you average 2-3 torments applied per second.

The problem now isn’t the total damage, it’s the DPS. Burning has a lot of it. Torment not so much.
Having thought about it, turning this trait into the following would be awesome:
Dhuumfire: Gain a 50% chance on a critical hit to inflict 2 stacks of Torment for 1 second. No internal cooldown.
Remember that this would need to be more than 1 stack because it doesn’t benefit from such traits as Hemophilia, and there are no runes that increase Torment duration (only +condition duration works). In lieu of that, 2 stacks for a GM trait is solid.
Note that this, for 1600 condition damage, is:
1 stack Torment = 91.875 dps
1 stack Burn = 492 dps
Torment uptime (assume 1 proc per second, which is in line with dagger auto attack) 50%
Burn uptime (assume best case) 40%
Torment net dps: 2 × 91.875 × 0.50 = 91.875 (not moving)
Torment net dps: 2 × 91.875 × 1.00 x 2 = 183.75 (moving)
Burn net dps: 492 × 0.40 = 196.8
In this regard, even for the best possible case, Torment is less dps than Burn. Meanwhile, the opponent (depending on class), could choose to counterplay and not move for a few seconds to lessen the pressure. I think this is better for everyone involved.

I’d still prefer 2 seconds of 1 stack than 1 second of 2 stacks.
LOL anet is going to give the people in this thread exactly what they want. They are going to nerf torment into the ground, and then switch dhuumfire into torment instead of a burn.
I find torment to be very useless in a single target applications. IF they do make these change, dhuumfire should be changed into aoe.
Word. Torment instead of burn kthx.
1 stack torment 10s duration, 1s icd, 100% on crit.
Leave Dhuumfire as it is now.
Ppl are complaining about terror damage not burning damage.

If only condition necromancers had some way of making single-target conditions apply to multiple opponents.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.

This seems reasonable, but how about we make it 33% chance (or whatever % would be appropriate) on hit instead of on crit? This is already bonus condition damage in the power line, so we should avoid forcing it into a build that requires power, condition damage, and precision just to make the most of it.
How to Condi Reaper on a budget
Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.
Soo… I went to try dhuumfire and I was lol op.
Then I ran into engineer and I was meh.
