Starting a new thread to see if other people share my opinion that the Flesh Golem skill: Charge, is very unresponsive.

At times the skills activates after 2 to 3 seconds for me, or not at all when I press the button.

What do you guys thinks? Is it lag, suckey PC? Share your ideas and opinions below!

I actually rely on this charge as a knockdown to keep players in my wells as another form of CC and I can say i have never seen him not charge. I cannot say he will charge the right direction but he has never failed to charge for me.

So i am going to blame lag. I do not want to blame it on the connection, so to rule this out, do you lag in other areas, or during giant keep fights with 50+ players all on the screen? If so i will say its lag that is causing the issue.

Naturally there is no way to tell if it’s lag as there is no way to see my ping. As for your question, no I don’t lag when there are a bit more people around. WvW goes smooth for me, aside from the frame drop when everyone goes nuts on a gate. The only real lag I experienced in the game was with the Karka event, next to that I’ve never had lag problems.

I would like for minion skills to be insta cast and usable while stunned, I mean they already don’t attack most the time and die if a ranger pet even thinks of attacking them, heaven forbid if something actually hits them.

Ive had the Charge take too long to go off as well. Sometimes it just wont and Im expecting it to. 2-3 secs of waiting for a charge and it doesnt happen can mean a match in an intense pvp game. Especially when charge is used to set up a grasp/well combo. Its not lag most fo the time, I think they either intended that or its bugged. Its a constant 2-3 sec pause for me. So much so that I’ve had to incorporate that pause into my atk scheme

charge is fine never had a problem with it. what’s not fine is that the flesh golem after a charge somehow needs like a solid 4 seconds to become usefull again.. get to the target and atk it.. also notice the pause after the charge for a good 1.5 seconds..

There are a number of reasons for this.
1. each minion has it’s own cast time for their active abilities. This is most noticeable with the shadow fiend winding up for his blind.
2. the flesh golem might have been CC’d when you cast, however this usually prevents the ability from casting all together putting it on full cooldown.
3. like you mentioned, it might have been latency.
4. sometimes the rippling “casting” effect on the skill icon gets stuck. This has happened to me quite often when using minions. The skill isn’t actually casting if it gets stuck though, just the skill icon animation.
5. You might not be seeing the casting bar, as the flesh golem charge has a lengthy cast time for the player.

Use your fears to heard an enemy against a wall, then run them over with Flesh Golem. OMG the numbers and watching the enemy flip and bounce off the ground is awesome.

I am absolutely certain they are 100% aware of the Necro Minion problems, including the terrain collision issues that flesh golem seems to suffer from.

I know this because I spoke directly to a QA Lead that was playing free tournaments about it. I also mentioned how siphon heals don’t scale correctly.

The only problem I have with Charge is when he’s attacking something and you hit Charge and it doesn’t knockdown or interrupt at all, he just runs away really fast.

A few of these points can be ignored because the cast time should be 3/4 of a second, and I’ve paid attention to the golem to see if it was cc’d, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t. As for the animation being stuck, I don’t think that’s it either because there were instances where I’ve been clicking for a few seconds before the golem did its thing.

I think it’s lag then, so I guess the next step would be hoping for a latency meter somewhere in the hud so I can verify.

It’s lagged for me too, occasionally not responding at all.

My biggest annoyance is that the Golem charges 10 miles away and aggros everything in that line.

It often takes a while for mine to charge too. (It also seems to take longer to summon the minion than it used to.) I will hit the button, see it flash, then … nothing. I hit it again, see it flash … then nothing again. The 3rd time does seem to be the charm, but that is ridiculous. Granted sometimes it goes off on the 1st try, sometimes on the 3rd. But it should be more reliable & take less time.

What actually bothers me just as much about the Charge is that
1) Sometimes the Golem is lingering behind you (too often having a carousal with the other minions)– esp. while you are chasing someone down in WvW – when you tell it to charge, which, in the event that it does, it comes up short – just missing your target. Though you were within a range of 300-500, and the charge has a range of 1200 – it misses by maybe 100-200. That is absurd. Minions need to stop lingering.
2) Moreover, the charge (when/if it comes) will get snagged to a stall on the slightest thing – the barest edge of a structure or small stone. That is very frustrating, especially when combined with point #1.
