I’ve said in the past that i will not be making a healingmancer… but i ultimately gave in to the peer pressure. I think you guys will find this one very interesting. Without further ado…. here it is
Guild Wars 2 – I will bring you back [necromancer healing-support build]
This video includes the thought process and proof that healingmancers are viable, efficient and worth to be part of a group.
Building up the healingmancer – weapons, stats, items, skills, utilities, traits and last but not least… how do you use the healingmancer after all is well and done. All of these explained in detail with the reasoning behind each decision.
FINAL STATS:
2831 Attack
“???” Condition damage – irrelevant
~ 21% Critical strike chance
~ 65% Critical strike damage
Over 2500 Armor
~ 21,992 Health
Over 1.535 Healing Power
25% Boon duration
—
+ the ability to perma AoE regeneration
+ the ability to AoE heal over 15000 HP over 10 seconds
+ the ability to heal yourself well over 22000 HP over 10 seconds
+ the ability to high damage while in Lich Form / while support is not needed
If i missed anything or if you have any questions feel free to comment here, on in the comment section on youtube.
Enjoy

I think too many people underestimate lich form. its auto-pwn status.
I thought that Lich Form and Plague Form ignored your gear and just gave you Base + Traits + Form Bonus as stats. That’d be why your Crit Damage stat went down. You lost all your Zerker item bonuses.
Test it and make sure, but I’m fairly certain that’s how it works. It might open up a bit more space in the build for gearing.
Edit:
Also, have you considered how much incoming DPS is reduced by permanent Weakness stacked on top of your permanent Regen and burst healing. I’ve tried a build similar to this and thoroughly enjoyed it in PvE, but I took Soul Reaping to 20 so I could put 10 points in Curses for Weakening Shroud. That plus the Chillblains + Putrid Mark finisher offered a pretty impressive Weakness uptime, and I used off-hand dagger instead of off-hand focus to fill in the gaps. I thought focus would work well at first too, but I already got plenty of regen from staff 2. The blinds, cleanse, and weakness from dagger really fit the build better.
Thanks for the video and all the other build work you’ve done. Most of the builds I’ve run have been inspired by your videos, and you were a big help when I first made my Necro and had no clue how it worked.

Just curious, why are you not using Ritual Mastery?
@Pincushion: iirc, you keep the stats from your gear while in lich form, but not the weapon-stats.
I actually gave this a go in some tpvp matches, and it works surprisingly well. Great for holding points. Only problem is, like you mentioned in the comments of the video is CCs. I did switch some traits, but overall the build is the same.
Nemesis please put a annotation on the crit part that everyone already noticed (and i mailed you on youtube when you uploaded the video).
Does this build work for high level dungeons like Arah, or WvW at all? I’m working on getting the exotic armour for this build right now. Should I get the full ascalon set because that seems to be the only one that does Healing Power>Power> Toughness or is there another way to get an exotic set like that? Awesome video btw!
That’s really interesting. Makes me wish I had enough money to buy support armor and weapons for my Necro.

I run a healing/support build that is a bit different but also uses cleric’s (Healing/Power/Toughness) gear. I haven’t gotten to Arah yet, but I’ve run every other dungeon with it, aside from two paths, and up to 14 in fractals with it, and it’s been great so far.
I don’t particularly enjoy it for WvW, but I haven’t particularly enjoyed WvW in general lately. I haven’t found it to do well solo, in large part because of necromancer’s lack of escape abilities. However, if you like running with a group of 5+ people, healing and using staff can probably be effective. It also might be possible to customize it to work well for solo/small group WvW with more skill.
I don’t think the ascalon set is H/P/T – I think it is Magi’s (Healing/Precision/Vitality), which in my opinion is vastly inferior for a healing necromancer. To get cheap cleric’s gear, search on the trading post for Mhenlo’s ( http://www.gw2spidy.com/search/mhenlo%27s?recipes=0 ), which are cleric exotic drops that tend to sell for less than the crafted version. As far as I’ve seen on the wiki ( http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Equipment_acquisition_by_stats ), you can only get cleric’s gear by crafting, random loot drops, or mystic forge (or buying one of those sources off the trading post).
I think you can buy cleric’s in WvW
just one question:
except for the lich, why does it have to be power/cleric?
so far ive seen/heard no reason why this cant be done with apothecary/shaman and scepter. some1 care to enlighten me?
It is perfectly possible to use shaman gear to use a support necromancer, but the builds end up being a decent bit different to focus on conditions not power.

I personally carry an off-set of Apothecary Armor as well. I prefer dagger and axe to scepter, so I usually use cleric’s. Dagger 2 also scales with healing power, and I find it useful for tanking. Staff 2 does a lot of bleed damage, so if you prefer conditions, a support build with apothecary gear can also be very effective.
