Hello.

Yes I do know tomorrow the patch will change EVERYTHING, but…

I just made some numbers and I tried to make my ever first build, so I’d like to ask for some feedback before buying anything.

Utilities are, as always, dependant on encounter, and I’d like to run fractals or some dungeons with this. Maybe some WvW in large groups if I feel like, but not a priority.

If you’re main priority is Dungeons/Fractals I’d strongly recommend going full berserker gear. Power builds are much more efficient for PvE, and even for WvW or PvP I think either full condi or full power is better than a hybrid set up

By going hybrid you dont get your money’s worth out of traits like axe mastery (better with full power) or dhuumfire (better with full condi obviously). Power damage is based on 3 stats so it’s really kitten if you don’t go all out power.

That being said I’m only speculating and never tried hybrid, but I thinking choosing power OR condi is much more efficient for necro.

These two builds will get you guys killed so many times in pve. Also i dont think it is cost efficient getting ascended for one mode only. Stat for WvW, then what you have, if it works will probably work for pve. These builds are bad for necros in pvp and wvw as well. Here is why;

Necros have no vigor, no escape only DS to tank hits with (so you will get hit…alot) and only one aoe damage skill. You now have two problems when dealing with a lot of mobs, you cant avoid their damage often and you cant kill all of em at the same time. Sigil of energy won’t help that much, so for much too long, you will have to just kite to avoid damage.

In pve, you can go power sure, but you have to have near to death and decent toughness at least (2400+), as part of the main build. once you have those then you can do what you want since most things will work for pve.

These builds are the reason why a lot of necros keep saying the class is underpowered against other classes and why they have no sustain or survivability compared to other classes.

I have one, but im not ready to post it yet.

It looks as though he was trying for some kind of might build up, the energy sigil was to help with the food for maintaining it plus quicker endurance gain. It’s safe to assume he’s looking to add some support into the group with the regeneration, well of blood and protection on wells, plus 2 of the wells and 2 weapon skills provide aoe damage, not including DS or lich. I don’t have much experience in dungeons or fractals but how much aoe damage could you need in a pve group?
Maybe you should layout some suggestions for him or post a build he should work towards, it sounds like you’re suggesting a hybrid trait-ed around wells and DS.

The only place where ascended armour is required and makes a difference is in fractals. So if you are going to get ascended anything. It should be berserker/assassins. The stat difference is negligible and if you are scaled down (low level dungeons) the weapon strength of an ascended weapon is scaled to rare quality. There is no benefit to ascended other than weapon strength at lvl 80 or if you need AR for high level fractals. Keep this in mind when deciding on a build as grinding for ascended is very expensive.

You can build however you like. But i recommend only using exotics for those different builds. Which are cheap so you can get as many sets as you like. Just trying to save you guys time and money.
