Don’t underestimate the damage of the New plagueland. It is far superior to our current wells. Just taking the first condi pulse bleed alone, one reaper would stack 9 bleeds at the end of the elite. 10 reapers = 90 bleed stacks. Add 10 epidemic to it and neighbouring sieges get 900 bleed stacks. And all these bleeds tick over time. And then there is chill stacking which increases bleed stacks even more due to reaper trait.

Nope 1 epidemic can only send 25 bleed stacks. so at best 250 bleed stacks and that is if there is no projectile reflexion or aegis or block.

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

Also assuming that ppl do move out of red circles, use cleansee etc.? Saw some enemy necro jumping on our half afk zerg, land plagulands, second after he was eaten and zerg didn’t even bother to go out of the circle. like nothing happened there. necro respawned.

Pve wise doesnt seem as good,but i think this looks nice for a phase in phase out style for wvw.
Spectral walk into a fight,drop shouts and plaguelands and spectral walk out or go with spectral walk+wurm combo for even more gap increase.
Time will show but right now i like plaguelands more than plague,mainly because it opens the option for bomber teams.

I thought this bomber idea was fabulous.
I expanded it a little in the WvW forums but gave you credits.

Also PvE wise, I thought of things like World bosses where most of them are static for long periods and will allow plagueland to be used maximized though I suppose these PvE fights are not that crucial in terms of skill choices.

Still, I can also think of many instances in Fractals where the bosses/mobs are static. The problem is, would taking plaguelands be better than the golem which can do breakbar?

Reaper can drop breakbars fast anyways,gs and shroud skills.
Point here is that golem doesnt scale with anything and its just a one trick pony,while plaguelands ACTUALLY scales with your condition/power.

Some simple things to point here about plaguelands.
Pros:
1 second cast
Long duration
Multiple condition and dmg ticks
Can trigger sigils and traits (use your imagination here,you can get a few ideas)
80 second cd traited.
Fire and forget

Cons
Will trigger retaliation dmg
240 radius does leave it a bit wanting,but not necesarily bad.
No one will sit on it if they can walk out of it
120 seconds cd non traited.
Most likely was just created to give us something to occupy ourselves because they just destroyed epidemic and they didnt want a backlash from the necromancer community right now that they are ironing the release of theyr next cashcow.

I can’t get a thief to stand on it, let alone get him to stand on it for 10 seconds.

I want an explanation as to why this is deemed a useful skill. Oh, the impact on competitive play wasn’t taken into account? Hands up if you’re surprised. Nobody? Bueller?

Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.

I retract my previous statement about Plaguelands in WvW… people ARE stupid enough to stand in it. It has been incredibly useful each time I have used it, -chokes, seige, zerg pushes-, way better than Plague ever was.

Good job Anet! I also like that Epi hits much more consistently now, so Double Good Job Anet!!

Sometimes you get situations in PvP matches where Plaguelands solos 2-3 people for you while everyone is doing their MLG ress game.

People don’t see the subtle splatter and red ring sometimes, and get maybe 2 to 3 ticks from plague-well which fabulously covers all the damaging conditions and screws them over.

Even srs gamers will get a giggle out of it. Well, maybe not if you’re on the receiving end of Plaguelands…

like seriously, why can’t you still physically turn into a plague just for flavor? That was kittening awesome. Plaguelands is kitten. I just realized it today and I’m kittened. What are you supposed to do now for elite if you run dire?

(Also, Mother of God, I got to a topic in time to not be considered “bumping” it?! o.0 Hell must be freezing over.)

no thanks, plaguelands is awesome and a dps boost. for immersion we should get a ride the lighting type of skill that makes us a fast traveling plague, some orr mobs do it and cm p2 boss
