Necro Feast of corruption
The skill needs to be changed anyway, since atm using it is a lost of DPS (and the skill does only dmg besides giving some life force), since autoattacking does more damage than casting FoC.
So why not change the animation with it.
I don’t get it anyway, why even Necro mobs have better spell effects than the playable profession itself.

Pretty much what I was thinking, The mobs necro spells like so much better than ours. Not even going to mention my necro doesn’t even look intimidating.

Agreed, the skill as it stands now is awful and doesn’t make any sense on a condition weapon. It needs to have something to make it worth casting because as it stands now it just isn’t. A lot of skills that grant life force seem like they were balanced by anet as if it were a powerful secondary effect, when this is far from the case. It’s most blatant with feast of corruption and staff auto attack.
Further it’s not like the Necro is packed with awesome effects, so you could think “well, let’s make that a monster spell then”.
More than half of the Necro’s spell effects look like place holders, and/or are identical with x other skills.
And while all Marks and Wells look identical, monsters get different spell effects before they finish the Necromancer.
I really don’t know who has slept there at Anet, but let’s hope he wakes up soon, and fixes it.
I wished they were only place holders the minions look terrible
The animations are a good point. I love the Staff’s 1 cast, but yes in general we’re very lacking.
I have to say I like the minions, fleshy creations instead of zombies was a welcome tough unseen to most necromancers in games – a shame Jagged Horrors are just shrunk Bone Minions, very lazy.
In regards to Feast of Corruption, it sounds like that NPC’s animation used what our daggers 1 combo uses. Give it a try. I think I’ve experienced the same.

I hope they change them alltogether, their disguisting rat looks makes me not wanna use them and if i do its for AoE meatwalling (lich form only ofc) since i like seeing them die. they need to bring back the good old Bone and Shambling horrors from GW1.

True about the minions but the dagger 1 does a slash—>slash—>Bite kind of thing and it’s funny the npcs do use a sceptre it looks like to use the Bite—>Bite—>Bite attack but there’s appear to be channelled.
I don’t mind how the minions look but I’m not a fan of their AI.
Staff 1 attack looks cool (scythe and creepy bone hands ftw), but is too slow for pvp (can get away from it easily) and THAT AWFUL NOISE DEAR LORD.
Axe attacks look alright, but it doesn’t really make sense to be swinging in air and hitting the target, does it?
Sceptere 1 attack animation is… missing? Just looks like I’m swinging it around in air. Feast of corruption animation is cool, but like people have said… it’s useless for soloing (the dmg bonus is actually quite good in groups when the enemy has a crapton of conditions).
Focus attacks don’t seem to have very distinct animations either. I’ve never seen the focus ’reaper’s scythe’. What scythe? Tooltip promised me a scythe!
Locust swarm looks sick and is amazing for pve and pvp, the dagger blind is decent… the rest are kind of lackluster (focus is buggy tbh).
Ugh when I WvW and I’m attacking a door with my sceptre I look around and see everyone throwing out all types of special stuff and mines is…..not there.
Someone mentioned that they aren’t happy with the balancing of the skill, and frankly, I disagree. I bring a scepter (and use it almost exclusively despite my lack of condition damage) purely for this skill: I run a DS build in CoF, and because most silvers have 5-10 conditions on them at any point in a fight, the 10-20% LF every 10 seconds is a blessing for me (I reenter shroud every 5 seconds and stay in it for exactly 6, so I get one cast of this per entry). It may be different outside the dungeon environment, but really, scepter + dagger/scepter + focus lets you apply four of the conditions by yourself.
I like the animation (one of the better ones we have, along with staff autoattack, axe 2, and a few others), though admittedly I don’t know which mob you’re talking about. I’d love a change for the scepter chain though, it looks like I’m mauling the enemy with the weapon when I go in melee range.
Also: Why, for the love of necro, would you attack a structure with your scepter? It has by far the lowest damage of all weapons – whatever else you have in your second set will do better than it.

Doesn’t matter which weapon I use on the door I’m still doing poor damage you want 200-300 damage in 1 shot or you want it in 3 hits. Cast time plus travel time on the staff is almost the same as 3 sceptre attacks.
That only makes sense if you aren’t allowed to cast while the projectile is travelling.
The bottom line is it doesn’t really matter the damage sucks either way.
