So I just picked up a necromancer, so far having a blast with it over my guardian & almost my elementalist

I’m having a hard time finding a necromancer leveling build. Some of the youtube videos I watch seem hard to understand for me, reason being is I’m an extreme noob to guild wars 2. My highest level was my 14 ele if that puts it in perspective.

Any help is appreciated.

So far right now I’m running with bone fiend & and blood fiend with dagger/warhorn.

I know its really early in the game for me, but any preperation in order to get the best performance while leveling is appreciated.

For pure leveling I plan to just go zone by zone with story quests when available, I may do some PvP or WvW at some points, but I’m not a huge PvPer yet.

Thank you in advance.

dagger dagger and scepter warhorn good. always go power tree in traits as leveling then precision tree, blood is power gives 10 stacks of might and the well that stacks vulnerability and damages. those two together will zerg rush you through most fights.

imho, while you level up, you should use your minions, and trait accordingly to give them more power, more life, and lich life (specially this one. So, read the Blood Magic tree). I normally use power-related weapons, such as axe or dagger, to help them. And the ever-useful, long-ranged, staff.

Around lvl 60 or so, you should start thinking about respec your traits into a full powermancer, a conditionmancer, or an hybrid, according your playstyle and personal tastes.

If you are new to Guild Wars 2, I sugest that you forget about the “fastest way to level up”, and take the long and panoramic way. Roam the low level maps (specially your starting town), do the hearts, views, pois and so, and especially do the personal story. Enjoy the trip.

Pro-tip: In every starting city is a teleport (a round purple gateway) to Lion’s Arch. From there you can go to the remaining starting cities, and open new low-level maps.

Good luck, and feel free to keep asking.

Minions and Dagger/Focus + Axe/Horn. Let’s you stack vulnerability which helps your minions too, dagger is strongest autoattack, axe auto lets you keep range, hornhas speed boost. Swap em around as you find it works best for you. There’s also dagger oh if you need condition cleanse without sacrificing a minion. If traited, staff can keep your minions alive longer, but I never found I needed that in open world.

I recently fell in love with the Necromancer as well :P so far I’ve leveled him to 23 and it’s going great, I’m gonna stick with him till 80 :P

I tried pretty much all set ups, and personally what works for me best is condition built Minionmancer with Scepter/Dagger + Staff.
It’s got awesome CC, I’m wrecking everything and having a blast. I think you should try it as well :P
Try this until lvl 20:

And then:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNArYWjEa16Vaqb07IgoCED [Of course Flesh golem won’t be added till lvl 30]
And try to find Malign or Precise gear for this build [Why Precise and not Mighty? because 5 points into curses give criticals a chance to blood]

I’ve asked tons of people, and everyone says to go with pure might and power gear in the early lvls and I get why, but personally it didn’t work as well as conditions for me. Might builds lack Crowed Control which is really important when you’re leveling, since you’ll be most likely PvEing.

Good luck mate :P
