Power Necro Viable?
Players have a lot more armour than most pve mobs so there will be difference. My necro only seems to hit about 4.5k lifeblast in wvw on most people. But then i often dont have much might or vuln.
And back to referring to spammy builds. I said the max ive ever spammed lifeblast was 3 times. That was when people were running away at 1000 range. In a regular fight ill hop into DS and unload a single lifeblast (maybe 2 on some occasions) while using either doom, wail of doom, dark pact or tainted shackles to lock them down. Even on the DS build i spend a lot of time using dagger to kill people.
This is why I will probably be scrapping deathly perception after the feature patch. In favour of a 30/30/0/0/10 or 20/30/0/0/20 power build.
Well I do stay in DS and spam life blast. I run 10/0/30/0/30 with Runes of the Pack for 1 button perma swiftness. Mostly knight’s gear with a lil zerker, valk and pvt thrown in.
There’s nothing wrong with fighting that way. In fact the best sustain a necro can manage is to simply fight from DS until it runs out, then fight with daggers until DS bar is full again. Rinse and repeat. Typically your heal comes off CD around the same time you get knocked out of DS. So you can cleanse all the condi’s you gathered while in DS and heal the hp you lost during your previous period of time out of DS.
I think this play style works best with high toughness though. It adds value to both your DS regen and Heal skill, as well as any external heals you receive. With the big buff coming to the Death Tree in the near future, I see my build becoming more then just viable.
Applying conditions doesn’t take much skill. Keeping them on after they’ve been repeatedly cleansed and knowing which conditions to use when does take skill.
If you want to be a power build because you think conditions are toxic.. You’ll be slapping people with 6 – 10k crits in Death Shroud as a power. I don’t get your logic.you serious with your 6-10k blasts ? im power necro and the most dmg ive done with blast is 5.4k…its alot sure but nothing compared to thief with their 8k minimum crit backstab and 6k minimum heartseeker spam.
I hit 6-8 average… Low end is usually 5 ish.

I run a 10/0/30/0/30 build with zerker armor/weps, cav trinkets and Traveler runes. Staff // Dagger/Focus. I think its a great build, especially for WvW both roaming and in groups. Blood to Power combined with the life blast granting might gives really huge lifeblasts and the 45% boon duration is awesome backed up by a ton of toughness. Great build in my opinion for a powermancer.
The boosts to Death Magic will make this an amazing build I think, not sure if I will use the new GM trait though

I run love it esp when warriors find out my blows don’t stop due to their little zerk stance.
How does power necro fair against condi necro since the patch. Also isn’t a balanced power/condi be just as valid since Necro skills usually do condition and straight dps?
