Power reapers in fractals?
I have been using power necro even before Heart of Thorns, and in high Fractals it goes prety well. I haven’t done CM 100 Since the changes to Greatsword but I would assume it probably go better than before.

I’m not an expert but I’ve always played power necro and only fractals… so after I restarted playing and up until now (almost finishing tier 3 fractals and finally going up to tier 4) I’ve run power necro and it’s been great ^^ no problems with getting a party either.
I find condi necro pretty boring
This is because you might have been playing it wrong. Once you team up with only condi damage dealers and at least 2 more necros you’ll see that Epi bounce (well executed) is one of the coolest mechanics that makes you just wipe through FotM. Viper Necros might not be the highest damage output but they’re extremely functional in the right parties and rarely go get downed, even at higher level fractals.
I was just wondering how well a power necro is in higher tier fractals all the way to CM 100.
Power necros are underlooked. We all want them to be a thing but that’s the reality even with the GS buff. If you show up to a 100 CM pug there’s a 90% chance people will ask you to swap or vote kick you (can happen different if you’re running with guildies and/or friends).

I have never been kicked for it. I have the title and potions so beyond that people don’t care what you bring in my experiences.

I have been running zerker reaper axe/dagger, gs w/ a couple wells is extremely fun! I just switched to it this past week and it performs perfectly through T4’s. Much more engaging than condi, which I had been playing for the past year or so. Try it out!

Guess you’re part of that 10%
Seriously. In power compositions asking pot and title it won’t be an issue. I normally run with condi only teams (with viper necro or condi ps) and power necros are not welcome there. Seen this also happen in PUG raids where people are asking for condi necros (VG and Gorse) and a power necro joins. Guess it has to do people not reading descriptions in LFG.

That’s my monthly rotation. Play condi then get bored and move to power. Then get bored again and move back to condi. Stacking ~40 bleeds on a foe with rs #5 and 4 will never get old though.
So ever since I got a guardian up to raid acceptable, my guild has preferred I play that over my main necro. The problem is, outside raids, I find condi necro pretty boring, so now I am tempted to switch over to power. However, I still like using my necro in fractials. I am currently close to completing t2 fractials (44) and I was just wondering how well a power necro is in higher tier fractals all the way to CM 100. If you have experience with those spicy gs buffs, I’d also like to know how those work in high tier fractals.
I want to talk about something:I took foot in the grave with the new buffs and GS and the dmg was really good for aoe.I liked the dmg for regular hits too, though i have to do more theorycrafting and i need more strength ferocity and expertise stat on armor to get full benefit of it with probably some extra condi for the condition dmg done by number 4.
I am playing Berserker’s Power Reaper with Axe/Dagger and Staff for that 1200 range and i do T4s daily without any problem.
Spite / Reaper the perma traits and I change between Blood/Soul reaping depending on the situation.
Transfusion has saved too many runs on last boss on 100 Fractal and Mai Trin Fract.

I run 100 CM every single day, and never have an issue with pugs that didnt specify condi before hand.
Your made up stats are exactly that, made up.
I’ve done up to 100 CM with a power reaper, no issue what so ever.

Thanks a lot everyone for your input. Apparently condi gs is a thing now and that weapon was really why I was considering power. The thing is, I like both the scepter and the gs, but their traditional play styles revolved around camping in one, boooring. I’m trying condi gs now in wvw and I think someone who is actually good at this game can get a lot of mileage out of it.

I find that I’m no longer camping either of scepter, or GS, on my condi build, at least when I’m running around doing, y’know, random stuff. Maybe that’d be different in T4 fractals, and, well, raids, y’know.
…but it’s definitely a big difference to how it used to be, thanks deathly chill buff.
