Is it just me or will the necro become even worse in pve than he was already? Like – nowdays the necro is bad, but you can accept one in your pt. But with these new traits he has even less dmg modis than the mesmer. He will be instakicked even in pugs if this is final. Poor necros, last hope is the condi cap remove

Without scepter or Terror, Necromancer is worse than every other profession at condition damage. Even with scepter and more fear damage, Necromancer stacks pretty low against other professions for its use of condition damage stats. Most of Necro’s conditions are soft CC debuffing types: chill, blind, weakness, cripple, vulnerability, etc.

Yeah, on the topic of condi cap removal, I agree with what Anchoku said.

Necros can´t stack high numbers of damaging conditions on their own (compared to Engi, Warrior or even Ranger), so the cap removal wont improve our performance in PvE much.

As for the rest of the changes, well… at least they didn´t delete the profession

In PvE, I think we can stack 25 bleeds + perma poison +some burning and torment on our own it just needs the sacrifice of all our defenses (DS flashing for dhuumfire and our scepter blind for transferring our self applied bleeds).

@Tim: Maybe, but when other professions can do it easily twice as fast, the fact that we can do it eventually doesn´t exactly speak for us =P

What burns me is that other professions can do fair condition damage without nearly as much investment (opportunity) cost. Necromancer literally has Fear, staff, and scepter for inherent condi damage. Staff does very little condi dps and Fear has very low up-time.

Im crossing my fingers for the elite spec cause right now spite is the only traitline that has traits i would like for a pve build, Blood Magicis really really bad but maybe the wells help? Soul Reaping has a damage modifying minor but none of the traits help outside DS, curses has fury on DS and crit/condi minors, Death Magic has toughness to power? so idk what to do…
