The necromancer class is a joke right?
Calm down dude. No one can say ANYTHING about the incoming balancing because literally every single number we saw may as well mean nothing. They joked that they probably should have just set every number to 5000. They’re going over traits and the general effect of them, not balancing numbers. That’s literally the easiest part.
As for why they felt “rushed,” they had to rush through every class. They went over their alloted time, so yeah, I’m sure they didn’t want to turn what was supposed to be a four hour stream into what could easily have been a six-hour.
As for any questions you had about AI changes, they were really only focusing on traits for this AMA, so of course they’re not going to completely change topics. You and anyone else worried about numbers/balance is foolish to do so. We still don’t know what it’ll be like when it ships. If you have any concerns other than “omg my class is a joke now,” such as the “spirit of your build being lost,” then make a post about it. Spreading anxiety on the forums does nothing.
Even if they set every number to 5000 it would be a joke of a game because at that point they don’t even care enough attempt to balance it.
The OP name says it all. I see no value in this post. Power builds are in a good spot and it seems like they are trying to make terror and condi two different builds. Since numbers are still being played around with all we can go by is what the trait does on its own. We don’t even know how condi stacking will work so how can we say condi builds are going to be broken? I do see some potential power builds which I’m excited about but plan on writing about them in the theory crafting post by Drarnor. Having said all that I do have my concerns with the trait system.
I don’t care what any calculator says: reflects are the king of of DPS in all PvE that matters.
Reflects do orders of magnitude more DPS than everything else combined, and necromancers do not have access to them, everybody else (including revenant) does.
I don’t think we’ve seen any Reflect skills on Revenant, actually. Not saying they won’t have one, but for what we’ve seen, projectile reflection was not among their capabilities. The wall on Hammer only blocks projectiles, not reflect them.

I am glad you see no value in this post, because I really see none in yours at all. See you talk about con builds and power builds. You do know blood and minion builds are also apart of the game right? Blood having huge flaws, and minions work half the time.
So if you want to keep adding your pointless two cents by all means go ahead. People have a right to be irked with how much info we got on the changes, and tweaking the numbers on blood is only half the problem.
Necro still has some of the lowest amount of damage modifier traits even after the proposed changes for all classes. So even if power builds might be good in PvP and WvW. They are still a little on the weak side for PvE. And we are losing our current version of target the weak which doesnt help. Damage mods > crit chance.
Crit chance will remain really important.
Without the stat increase from curses, and without, for the most part, fury, necromancer will be starved for precision. All of the current berzerkers might even have to swap to assassins.
Of course, even then, the conditional requirements on target the weak make it’s precision increase unreliable.
Nah we should be fine for precision. Its getting moved to gear and base stats so for 6/6 builds with zerk/sin you should have the same stats you have now. Non DS builds should be using assassins already so theres no real change there.
New target the weak might mean berserker is better again or we just dont use precision food anymore. But overall its a nerf. Even with low crit, flat damage modifiers are way stronger than bonus crit chance. Id say it would need to be quite a bit more than +2% crit chance per condi to become equal on a power build.

Meanwhile I’m running around with carrion stats and life stealing minions. Having a great time!
