Why do people find c necro so op in pvp?
but some people really think one day every class will be able to support just as good as a guardian(which will never happen)
Their statement about not every Profession being capable of everything is talking about specific things, not the big picture.
A Support Necro shouldn’t Block+Heal the way a Guardian does, but they should still support just as well as a Guardian does.
And perhaps one day they shall.I just doubt that’s anytime soon.
It’s worth noting that pre-launch Necro was insanely overpowered as a bunker, and now they are terrible at that role.
It takes surprisingly little to change things completely.98% of people choose not to use condition curing skills. So, instead of them viewing necromancers as a normal class they view them as OP.
Well, there’s a reason for it.
Running that much condition removal is outright crippling to many builds. As an example Necros are really bad vs knockdowns.
You could say “Run more stunbreaks and stability!” but running 30 soul reaping and 3 Stunbreakers makes your build really bad.In a similar way a Mesmer running mass condi removal is outright horrible.
Eles get lucky because one of their best builds has a ton of condi removal already.Necros get even more lucky because Consume Conditions is their best heal so you sacrifice nothing for it, and you usually run off-hand Dagger and Staff, both of which help you deal with them even more.
I disagree with running 3 stun breakers beeing a bad build. I run with triple spectral (armor, wall, and walk), together with 2 spectral traits, (30/30///10), and i find it very, very useful. If you are wondering, the third stun break is plague form elite. I am able to have full death shroud almost all the time, and very good survavibility and disengage (use spectral walk for 11 seconds and then teleport back), while also being very useful in team fights (just drop a 7.5 seconds spectral wall to prevent enemies from reaching a point, or inside the point if they are already there).
Sure i have no wells or epidemic, but i dont really miss them that much. We already have a lot of AoE conditions (scepter#2, dagger#5, staff#2, staff#3, staff#5, DS#5, DS#4 with procs) so i dont miss them that much. Beeing able to survive more actually makes me more useful in a team fight, since i dont die and lose all my DPS for 30 seconds while i respawn and have to walk all the way back.
1: stab when entering ds counters CC knckdown, interrupt, daze
In addition to what was said about this worthless comment:
You need the LF to enter DS, It doesnt to jack kitten if cast after the stun/uptime doesnt matter if the duration it is worth in a fight is low, Worthless vs mesmer and thief cc locks (strip it) and not to mention that there is still the big problem in the need to use DS for the damage combo. So no CC hardcounters necro more than any other profession (heavys get easy 8+ stability with a good single utility, meduims move themself/enemy around and/or got their nice stealth, both other light professions have massive gap creation/mobility skills n plenty of invuls).
It is not much of a sample I need to watch more of the esl matches but just watching the finals what I saw is the balanced team with 5 different professions beat the team that had 3 of the supposed OP classes. Viewing with all the asura and aoe is a different thing.
It could have been the case that CC was just way better than Sync even though Team Curse would have been the actual EU representative if they weren’t disqualified.
It was the finals for the first major tournament and those where my observations. The teams must not have been locked into professions since CC decided to go warrior instead of engi/ele.

You aren’t locked in.
Those matches came down to map awareness/playing the map. Caed was losing every 1v1 and Twerp was constantly giving away home point for free. They got out rotated and outplayed, and it wasn’t so much about classes; although Caed and the two spirit rangers were essentially hard countered by the warrior.
Necros mainly, and Condition focused Engis and Warriors made me retire my Mesmer. I dont think Necros are exactly OP, you just need to have so much cond clear just for them for the most part that it weakens you vs all the other classes. In the case of the Mesmer, the cond removal is just TOO weak. I ran a mantra build just for cond removal but my offense was so limited it was even worse than before. sorry for an incoherent post watching UFC while I type

Why wasn’t I locked in? I wasn’t speaking on their strategy as far as rotations I was staying on topic with the thread we are in. 1 team is balanced with 5 different professions and 1 team has 3 of the supposed OP classes in the game. Caed was kind of hard countered by everyone even when he met the other thief 1v1 its basically all over the sPvP forums now how sync was losing so many 1v1’s.
I was just speaking on team composition and staying with the theme of the thread I would go to the actual sPvP forums if I wanted to really talk strategy.

Its not locked in to allow for more strategy.
And I brought up strategy because it was 100% the reason they lost. It had far less to do with their team comp (even with Caed’s difficulties they showed in the third game they could win if they played properly), and more to do with the fact that they got outplayed. That is an important thing to note, there is not a single build in this game that is so OP thakittens mere presence in a team guarantees them victory.
Also, both teams were using meta builds. It wasn’t like CC brought in something crazy and non-meta, their comp consisted solely of very standard builds that are considered very strong (“OP”) right now.
