I used this build in hotjoin and I was surprised on how effective it is. It hits like a truck even at range. I found that it can be effective in 1v1 fights, group fights and it also brings back the feeling of an Archer/Hunter class.

Is it tPvP worthy? I don’t know, but I had a lot of fun in it in hotjoin. I just like that this build isn’t another spirit condi bunker build and that it actually kills.

Some notes about this build:

• I use spike trap because I like to have an escape route planned. After all, this build lacks tankiness that bunker builds provide. If there is a zerg coming at my way, I can escape the hell out of there. Also, I can detect gankers on me when the spike trap activates.
• It helps that you know the seven other professions really well since this build is very dodge and interrupt reliant for defense. Know which attacks that must be dodged and which skills to be interrupted.
• I put Bloodlust on Longbow because I like doing the stealth finisher.
• There is no remorseless here because then you are not forced to use Hunter’s shot as a offensive skill. That way, Hunter’s shot will always be there when you need it to escape or stealth stomp.
• Sigil of Leeching because it is a defensive sigil on a defensive weapon. The extra heal is nice.
• Do switch weapons from time to time. Each bow bring good utilities to the table.
• It helps that you have good strong bunker teammate that is good at holding enemy aggro. If you get any of the zerg attention, you wipe.
• Try not to step onto red circle like a scrub.

Why use this build?

Use it because you want to play a archer, hunter, or range-r. Use it because you are sick of condi builds, spirit builds. Use it because it is fun.

This is the kind of build I’m looking for! Not for sPvP, but for solo/duo PVE. I love longbow/shortbow, I much prefer to stay out of melee altogether.

I’m a returning ranger (I have a level 80, a level 60 something, and 2 level 50 something rangers – don’t ask), so I don’t know a lot of what has changed with buffs and nerfs, and what rangers have come up with to cope. That said, what is “stealth finisher” and “stealth stomp”?

edit: NM, think I get it – you go stealth right before you “finish” the downed foe.

Power Rangers arent totally worthless, still you bring a little support to your team and thats a problem in high lvl pvp..

High DPS and snare(Barrage, crippling shot, Spike trap) does help the team a bit. You can slot in Healing spring instead of troll to give condi removal, regen and water field. You can also slot in a wolf for aoe fear. Ranged interrupts are also worth mentioning as support. Many times, I stealthed res an ally up to life.

There is support in here. But maybe not as much as Spirit rangers can do.

Same build that I use when I play spvp. Gotta say it’s insanely fun to just camp the gun at skyhammer and use LB#4 to push people off the ledge. I always end up dying of laughter when I play that map now
