Another thread about buffing spirits

In my opinion they don’t need to so much buff them, as rethink some of the actives and passive boons… like seriously, regen on water spirit and 1 might on frost? who the kitten thought that was a good idea?
not to mention some of the actives (again, frost spirit, stone spirit) are not even that punishing, let alone being good enough to sacrifice the spirit.
the actives need to be more like storm spirit, and the passive boons need to be more like sun spirit, stone spirit and the ult.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
I don’t think they need buff. It’s bad design, they just need a rework.
They should just make them like “pet’s signet”. Granting pets a way to passively grant an area effect on allie when they hit a foe and allowing us to proc the active that would happen at the pet’s location. Yeah I ask for actual synergy between the ranger and it’s pet. I ask for a design that promote a good management of the ranger’s specific mechanism. I ask for something that should have been done from they start even if it stray from GW1 spirit’s skill.

See when you say things like “rework”, it will be put on ignore by anet
Why?
Because rework involves REAL WORK for them. and we all know where anet wants to allocate their work (things that generate revenue like new skins and gemstore crap, not redesigning spirits lol)
Something they would rather not do for rangers…as its been evident for the past 3 years.
*cough* staff nature ritual skills, nature ritual traits, spirits become nature rituals *cough*

I disagree.
Current Nature Spirits as a concept works. I am okay with them being immobile. I am okay with them granting boons. I am not okay with them being easy to kill. I am not okay with the 1 second boon. It is simply a numbers issue. Just raise the HP by 1000% and raise the boons uptime to 9 seconds.

This.
Spirits are fine as active bombs.
They are useless as passive steroids. I mean really, I had an effective build just because I used spirits for bombing people up. The same mechanism as a trap. But I had a passive boost for 13 more seconds. Which is – sadly – the only time that you don’t have to worry about your spirits.
I have an idea why not make the spirits attached to the ranger, say like an aura, not like those circles you see but, lets say for instance, Sun Spirit, it would give your charcater an orange glow giving you and people around you the passive buff, when you activate the spirit, the spirits active effect emminates from you, and you lose the aura, still not sure how multiple spirits would work at once, but i think it would be ALOT better than what we have now and also solves the issue of the spirits dying and becoming useless.

So basically you say that changing the current mechanism that allow you to bomb with spirit into a mechanism that would allow you to bomb with your pet would make to much of a difference?

This is a really , really great idea thats come up a few times. Personally, I’d prefer to see the aura and active placed on the ranger instead of the pet, but thats ONLY because pets are: dead in zergs, dead in dungeons, and are unreliable at being ontop of an enemy in small scale fights, and if they are the ones who have to “cast” the active, thats a huge activation time issue.
Celestial Avatar is like an old man: Takes forever to get up and is spent in 4 seconds

I’m a realist.
It didn’t appear in the beta. We all know it’s not happening. The brightest coincidence might be we will get numbers buffed. Definitely not the mechanic.
I don’t dream about stuff that I know it’s not going to happen. That would be like believing in eternal true love.
