Balance Changes for rangers...

PBS has a 0.5 seconds cast time. Not many people will be able to act that fast in the heat of battle. In case they do evade it, they will have 1 evade less for the actual hit they were meant to evade in the first place. (RF)
I doubt they’ll change the cast time. The current 0.5 sec is in line with the other knockback skills. The 15s cooldown is shortest, but most of the other skills have other benefits.

Adding a tell to it will be good.
Rangers now need to memorize Hunter’s Shot, (puts you in stealth), activate Signet of the Wild, send the pet/activate F2 (for knockdown/fear/immobilize), have a 1.5s window for positioning/Signet of the Hunt/make sure the target doesn’t have Stability, Point Blank Shot (can’t see it coming because of stealth) and really only need to use if the pet gets screwed up (pet still has Signet of the Wild active), then use Rapid Fire.
Note, if you don’t use Signet of the Hunt, you are probably using Signet of Stone.
As oppose to before where Point Blank Shot could be used without Hunter’s Shot for a near-guaranteed full second RF. Defensively, Rangers still rely on the same evades (dodge/lightning reflexes and partial endurance regen) and GS for your defense and Protection boon on dodge roll… if needed.
I’m not seeing a huge change (because stealth exists on the very same weapon on a shorter cooldown). This isn’t like Warrior where Pin Down can’t be masked by stealth and is still on a longer cast time…
Anet hit LB slightly but missed the right ability.
TL;DR The LB animation tell means absolutely nothing.

to you it means nothing, to new players of the game in general , new people to pvp.
this gives them a chance and only a chance the Way you combo chain an attacks, is all personal preference and has nothing to do with options to counter.
Ill just point it out as a Sword dagger thief that longbow ranger STILL is lootbag material. Its all about dodging and reacting accordingly to situation. You can figure on your own that the ranger will use knockback or fear to place his rapid fire in and avoid loosing its main dps spike so break out or activate utility when crowd controled and start dodging. It doesnt take much skill to do that just a stun breaker or stability.
BM: I want to present you my lovely jingle bear mia
If pet had voices: Mommy, I did it! :3

You aren’t fighting the right Rangers. There are a ton of new players that have no idea how to move/position, press F2 and attack with a channel/no root attack that is different from the ‘must be stationary’ Barrage and knowing when to GS or Sword. It’s not about RF, it’s about the ability sequence combo that leads to it.
If you say Rangers are loot bags, you are playing WvW (not sPvP).

Couldn’t the same argument be used though? Perhaps you’re fighting the wrong Thieves?
There are a lot of things holding the Ranger class back that weren’t really improved all that much in the last patch. While a lack of burst was a very valid complaint, overall damage was never really the weakness of the class.
In PvP and GvG, Thieves are still holding their own and are far better represented than Rangers (judging from the PvP forums as I don’t play PvP often).
Still waiting on Engineers Rifle to get a tell, then I’ll agree the game is approaching a more “standard” status of ranged CC skills.
It wasn’t hard to foresee though, and it’s been argued that the PBS should have a tell long before this patch. I personally don’t mind.
