…To create and maintain a [Central Feedback] thread for when the Druid is released?

Considering the limited amount of time we’ll get to feed back on individual skills, the new mechanic, strengths, weaknesses and general builds, we’ll have to be completely on-point and actively converging everyone’s ideas into one concise, neat place that’s consistently updated and easy for Devs to navigate/understand (IF they read it of course).

(looks at Jcbroe, durzlla, chrispy, chokolata etc…. expectantly) Would volunteer myself but I have crazy working hours until the middle of October

People will no doubt be posting all sorts of individual threads so these will have to be c/p’d into the central thread of course.

kittenmit if the Druid sucks on release we totes need to be savage with this.

Would it be too much to ask that only negatively impacting bugs are listed in that thread, so as to avoid the usual pattern of beneficial bugs being hotfixed in the next 24h while negatively impacting bugs stay in the list for at least 6 months?

It honestly depends on my availability. I’ll either be one of the first people in the mists testing setups and skills and then field testing both in public matches or private games with people, or I will be completely and totally unable to play for the majority of the weekend.

I hope it’s the first one, and even if I don’t start the thread, I’ll be there contributing and trying to help maintain a constructive conversation.

Also not entirely sure how chafed ANet will be to see my name on a feedback thread again xD we want them to read it and take it seriously, and it might be too soon for their delicate sensibilities to see my name again (not like if they had done a quality job in the past years that’d have anything to be all that insecure about, Grouch might have even stopped in and said something snarky to humiliate me and add humor, but since that isn’t the case…).

I might look into it.
But I mean… You guyz know me. I never sugarcoat things. If the druid is a disgrace I’ll say it straight even though I explain why. The problem is that people never want to hear the truth if it isn’t something they wanted to hear.

I might stick to the usual activity I do now. Observe and provide feedback.

I’ll be moving place with worse wi-fi so I won’t be able to do anything competitive like fractals or pvp anyways. Testing all day long seems like the thing I’ll be doing anyways.

Why’d my name get dropped? I’m not important!

Being serious though…when the Beta Weekend comes, I’m probably not going to sleep that weekend until I test every weapon, trait, skill and pet combination I can possibly think of in PvE and WvW. I will be active on the forums again next week (or whenever Druid gets announced), and during/after the next beta. I will also be making a feedback thread with my personal opinions and suggestions for fixes, and it will be interesting to see how many of us agree on the same thing (and hopefully all of our feedback ends up agreeing with each other, as it will be much easier for Anet when or if they read it.)

I’m not really all that active on the Forums right now though, so, as far as making/maintaining a central feedback thread goes, my vote goes to Tragic or Jcbroe. We need someone who is good at summarizing information, and can get to the point as well as post about what they see in a brutally honest manner (and as OP said, we need to be savage about it if the Druid turns out to be horrible). Those two are probably the best at those things on these forums.

Also, posting this again just to make sure the message is clear ( I’m done being 100% polite to people that ignore us. I was done with that a year ago):::

I don’t think I have the time nor commitment to run a central thread, but I certainly plan on playing the absolute kitten out of Druid during BWE3, and I’ll be doing everything I can to provide feedback on the specialisation.

Heh, I was just listing people who are familiar names to me on the forum. Hope Fluffball and Tragic aren’t offended I forgot them in the list

If Tragic ^ is happy to do it that’s great… to be honest I probably could scrape the time to do it, but my posts are generally pretty whiny and pessimistic so I probably wouldn’t be the most objective person to do it.

It’s kinda sad that I had to make a thread about starting another thread but y’know this is just the way things are with Ranger, so…

Absolutely no problem at all, Bryzy, we as the community are one. Names do not really matter. Well, for the beginning to inform you of my plans:

the 1st day of Beta druid weekend I’ll be reading through every trait and skill description, trying what synergy can be made. Then I’ll go and ask you guyz on forums for help and feedback on how did your combinations go for you, doing the maths on builds I didn’t think of (prejudice of useless builds just as The almighty Regen Ranger PvE meta as you know I loathe). The more suggestions to go with the merrier, that will be the time for you to give me the most crazy and out-of-meta suggestions (just please, everything in moderation… including moderation).

After all the tests numbers and brainstorming (probably when the beta ends) I’ll gather all the numerically and logically correct ideas and suggestions, and if they do not meet the expectations I’ll probably get a ban for being honest (aka ANet are a bunch of unfair kittens for they had 1 chance to get us fixed and they decided to buff icebow instead).
Let’s hope I am wrong this time (for the 1st time during my Ranger career).

I will be definitely be online testing the Druid and gathering any and all feedback I see on anything involving it, I’ve been waiting for too long to let anything as silly as real life interfere with my druid playtime…

just start a thread before we can test it, the rest moves from alone, we just need one of the mentioned names above and the community will follow
the big names should prepare the rest of the community to let them write just in this thread to make it the official and only feedback thread
to scatter all feedbacks over multiple threads is inefficient and costs time for devs to read the feedback

Make the thread ahead of time. All caps: [OFFICIAL DRUID FEEDBACK THREAD].
Outline structure people should post that is easy to read/not too long. Ask people to limit responses in length and use headings/subheadings to label whether feedback is about traits, staff, utilities, etc.

^ Indeed. We don’t need it getting out of hand with rants and “X is garbage and Y is so fail.”

Edit: Preferably, after the reveal when mechanic, weapon skill, utility, and trait names are confirmed, the opening post be a copy/paste format to fill out to make things easier.

I already have a grasp of how to do it (with a sheer bit of luck) fail-proof.
I believe you guyz are already familiar with the way of:

All responses should obey the template:
Build used: X
Purpose of the build: XYZ
Focus on mechanic: X
What was good or why did it fail to do it’s job.

You know. Those kind of things. I also intend to reserve the 1st two posts for a vast thread just in case to make a summary.
That way all kind of irrelevant topics get sorted out to avoid any subjective feelings all of us (me included) might have.

Looking at how the Devs have categorized things when they post upcoming changes for the next BWE, should have what you listed within the post along with individual responses on everything else concerning Staff, Glyphs, Traits, and Aspects.

Maybe go as far as using a Google Form as another source so they can see collective results on what and how players feel about the tuning of the Druid.

my suggested format for a central feedback thread :::

TITLE ((Subject area of your feedback (PET, UTILITY, WEAPON, TRAIT, etc.), use ALL CAPS so its easier to see))

Summary of your feedback on the given subject.
((Keep it in paragraph form or in a bullet list. Try to avoid walls of text. Use subheadings if you need to. Also, try to keep it short, like, 2-300 words kind of short. This thread should be for short, concise feedback, if you need more room, create a new thread and post a link in this post. Chances are people will read it if your summary gives them a reason to))
((If you hate something, or love something, don’t just say you hate or love it. Tell Anet why! If they know why you love or hate something, they are more likely to do something about it))

Links ::: (if your feedback takes more than 200 words, start a thread and post a link, because there’s no way most people are going to be able to summarize many issues in only 200 words.)

Don’t waste words on typing Title or Summary, just type the title and summary.

That’s my idea for a summarized thread that anyone can post in. Chances are, there’s still going to be dozens of threads with mountain ranges of text. Chances are, there’s going to be lots of math, skill analysis, and other things that will take way more than 2-300 words. Chances are, you’ll need a sherpa and oxygen tanks to get through anything I have to say about the Druid, so consider a summary post in the central/official feedback thread a blessing.
