Full Circle...Back To LB + Damage
Pretty much a zero sum game. Die..or kill…very quickly.
I noticed that Thieves insta target me now. They see the precise strike buff and know I am a ripe target. Likely wise, since if they don’t, and hit someone else, they will die….especially if you save rapid fire till just before they stealth.
I am up to 83% crit damage and was thinking of lowering that a bit so I can raise toughness.
2000+ longshots and runners don’t last long.
I pretty much did the same. Ran bm bunker for a while and loved it but I’d rather be able to kill quickly when roaming. And I’m prepared to die quickly if thats what it takes.
I run quite similar but 350 of that power and precision is in healing along with SotW.

Well everything has pros and cons. One thing that always bugged me was when a thief was taking out a yak. Knows I am there but doesn’t care. Nothing I could do about it.
Tonight a Thief tried the same thing. Didn’t work out well for him. 3 longshots…started rapid fire just before stealth = dead thief.
Optimized your stats. Lose 2% crit chance, 50 armor, gain 70 power, 150 health, and 18% crit damage. Doubt you will invest in new gear though, but I felt like I should help. Personally think you should add more survivability (no condition removal is a death sentence), but I won’t edit the build.
I’d take Hunter’s Tactics for 10% dmg flanks over Rejuventation.
Healing spring also makes more sense than TR. Firstly, you have no cleanse. Secondly, TR fits more for tanky builds that could absorb some damage, being glassy means you need to heal up immediately when pressure is on you. Lastly, you get extra heal if you leap through HS with swoop.
Run Scholar instead of Ranger runes for glass builds. You’re using perception to stack precision already, you don’t need that much precision. Personally I’d stack power with bloodlust instead. I would stack using a separate LB also. Put sigil of fire on the 2nd LB and use it after you’re done stacking.
Some great advice. Thanks.
Definitely going to go back to healing spring. Good point about needing more of a splash heal.
I do also need another bow. I get to 25 stacks of perception and need to switch bows..
Not sure if I want to drop crit chance. It is at base 53%. I was leaning towards lowering crit damage which is at 83%. Not sure about that. I should really try and bump toughness up a bit from 1232.
Hunters Tactics is a good idea but was already thinking about oakheart to get a regen up when conditioned. Currently in combat my health doesn’t move. Need a little bit of regen I would think.
Sure a different playstyle than the regen I have been using past month.
Current Archer build, GS moves in smoothly if hybrid melee/bow.
Uses Pair of Jellyfish and Raven/Owl
Very good mix of Toughness/Regen/Protection and Vigor with 60% passive condition reduction
Maintains 1/3 crit rate with solid base power.

Likely that is in my future. Still, would like to see the difference in damage between the 2 builds. Maybe I could guest in some PvE on your server..or vice versa..to see the spread.
Also, this has been my version of a troll build when it comes to Thieves. I can’t stand the way anet has incorporated stealth. A Thief can enter in the middle of a zerg fighting and kill someone by attrition..stealth..damage…stealth rinse/repeat till he makes the kill.
They can’t do that anymore if I am around because I keep my eyes open for a thief trying to do that….then I focus him down.

I’m on JQ toon name Kaloria, more than happy to help out. Just send me a /whisper if you guest. I should mention I am WvW centric as its all I really do. Mostly Solo/small man roaming.

Just had an Eureka moment from someone’s earlier post.
Beastmaster Trait instead of piercing arrows. Use Signet of Wild = some heals to help survive a bit…+ stability and damage buff when triggered….Signet of Stone. Almost 200 toughness + 6 seconds invuln when triggered. Signer of Hunt = speed +150% next hit damage.
So add Sig of wild+ sig of Stone + Beastmaster trait …and I lose lightning reflex…mud trap and piercing arrows. Hrmm..thoughts?
did I miss a patch or is sharpened edges still 1 second of bleeding? (wiki still shows it at 1 second) Would go with the pet speed or crit boost instead.
As for signets I run a 30 0 30 5 0 5 for sPvP and signets are working great, the latest cooldown made them even better (started running it 2 weeks before the change) Signet of the hunt shouldn’t be counted out (run speed is helpful {take +30% pet crit if following above advice} and the AoP it allows {use GS Maul skill for intense damage} makes for some high damage hits). If you seriously need to ruin someones day, proc Signet of the Hunt, followed by Signet of the Wild, and Maul or Swoop. I use a 100% crit rune on GS just to switch to it for the combo, but in your build you don’t need it to crit very often.
Or just pop signet of the wild before Rapid Fire.
Just remember, your elite can be swapped out. Sometimes Entangle is an I win button, other times RaO just works better. (might = even more damage).
And Steady focus can be swapped out for signet recharge (isnt as needed as pre patch). Wilderness Knowledge can be swapped for Shared Anguish to add survivability.
Alpine wolf looks good (I usually run Wolf + krytan, but the AoE fear isn’t as useful in wvw)
Fully popped you’re looking at 374.5% damage on a crit (If my math is correct)
Make them cry.
