Guys, when Druid comes out...
I’m one of those that never speculated on Druid being a Support/CC/AOE oriented spec. Only thing that I have speculated was disappointment, but I have been fairly surprised with what Anet has created with these Elite specs so far.
The only thing that matters after the reveal is testing and providing feedback. As it stands, Anet is willing to listen and make adjustments to the numbers, traits, and utilities. I feel they have the concepts finalized and are testing various iterations of the Druid (all a hunch).
Disappointment or not, I’ll reserve those sentiments based on testing and what adjustments are made afterwards for the final product.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
honestly i dont understand why everyone keep creating post and keep telling everyone what is druid going be like.
just stop it none of us know anything unless dev decided to release more info
If any dev reading this JUST RELEASE more info druid and allow the community to give you feedback before you release the game with full of broken druid spec. Don’t let history repeat itself again thanks!

Please explain this to me : If you love gw2 why are you perma writing on the forums?^
Why don’ t you play the game?
Regards
’cause the dude loves this class and is in Antarctica with unreliable internet connection to play the game.
As some of you know, I am in Antarctica (yay!) right now and I cannot play the game, sadly, due to poor internets. I’m honestly happy to just have access. So I’ve been theory crafting a lot and coming up with a lot of different builds. Many others are doing the same, it is a good time for creativity and I am looking forward to seeing all your videos on youtube!
So, I compiled a list of all the Ranger builds I/you have thought of after the patch. Let’s keep this tidy and accessible. I will see if we can have this thread replace the current “post your build” sticky thread because that one is just crazy to actually go through to find anything and all the builds in it are obsolete anyway. There are obviously many many variants to be had. Please post your own creation for peer review and addition to the list or inclusion as a variant. I will add yours in with your account name, credit where credit is due (unless you don’t want that).
Enjoy. Hope to see you in-game in about 5 months!
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
Yep, he’s right, I’m down here and cannot play. But I can chat with my Ranger mates about the class and watch their vids until I can play once more!
I am a little jealous. I’ve always wanted to see Antartica. It must be beautiful. Painfully cold, but beautiful.

Why can’t people be utterly disappointed? With the level of some of the other specs like reaper/chrono/daredevil/berserker it would be extremely disappointing for Druid to be lackluster. Just look at how much effort and creativity went into berserker with the skill concepts and animations. If our theoretical disappointment is not expressed then it is unlikely that substantive changes will be made. Imo, if the spec is garbage from the start, no amount of positive feedback will fix it properly. One cannot build a monument without a foundation. Let’s not forget that criticism doesn’t have to be positive for it to be constructive. Disappointment and analytical reasoning as to why a spec is bad is just as good as positive encouragements.
Once again it’s not as if either the engi or ranger have great track records to be giving the devs a pass here. If people are unhappy they need to express it from the very beginning.
Why can’t people be utterly disappointed?
Because it is in beta.
During the betas we don’t need to be disappointed at all, we just need to give the needed feedback.
If druid sucks at live game then you can be as disappointed as you want, and I’ll be really disappointed too and move on with rangers in general.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

I don’t really care about which direction they go with the Druid as long as it’s actually effective. Druid likely being the last reveal means a lot less BWE feedback we’ll be able to give which is what worries me the most.

That’s not a good way to go about things. Feedback is feedback, whether it be “I don’t agree with the direction you’ve decided to take this class, at all, it is dumb give me a rifle” or “Staff skill 2 feels amazing, but the rest of the skills are extremely lackluster, I don’t think all my weapon skills is a price worth paying for just staff 2”. Both of those opinions display disappointment with the product and are the kind of feedback the devs need. What’s important is not that you be exclusively positive, but that you be honest and descriptive with your experience.
If they’ve name dropped Druid since Heart of Thorns was revealed, built up all this hype then don’t deliver an Elite spec that shows us who the Maguuma Druids were (or at least the kind of magic they’ve been using since Prophecies)? Yes, I am going to be disappointed.

Nobody said you can’t/shouldn’t be disappointed, Nobody said not to make your disappointment known if that is how you feel, nobody said feedback must be positive in order to be constructive.
We are more likely to have a dev take our ideas and use them to improve the spec, if people are not happy with it, if the feedback is subjective and constructive.
I was merely warning that a lot of people will likely be disappointed and that whining that Druid is not exactly like you personally wanted is not going to make it any better.
So, if giving feedback, keep it constructive. When I look at the other forums, they are just full of QQ about how everything is terrible before they try it in Beta or even see the PoI. I just expect better from Rangers.

Yeah, it is cold. A month ago it was Mid-Winter and we cut (a) hole in the sea ice to go for a swim. It was -31 degrees at the time. It was a short swim haha!

Sounds heavenly, I wish I was there. You probably wouldn’t.

It may be in beta, but its not as if the spec will undergo major changes before it goes live. Some tweaking of course, but not much more. It’s not like they can just scrap their design and redo it; if their idea for the mechanics/utilities/whatever are broken or dumb they’re largely going to stay that way. If I’m disappointed that skill 3 doesn’t do enough damage or needs longer duration or whatever then I can express that. However, if I’m disappointed in the theme behind the spec because it doesn’t really address the problems with the class, then there’s not much I can do.
If druid sucks in beta or doesn’t give people any reason to hope for the class then thats it, its over. The tunnel collapsed, there is no light anymore.

Agreed.
OP, anet has had PLENTY constructive crit for 3 years regarding the state of ranger.
There is going to be a kittenstorm if Druid is not effective at solving the problems rangers have had to deal with since gw2 beta.
They can go ahead and delete this class if druid is not effective.
Because right now, I only see druid getting 1 BWE worth of feedback.
We all know how well anet does “internal” testing , especially with ranger changes lol
While I’m certainly hoping for the best, I expect the worst.
Even when I expect nothing, I’m still disappointed with anet and their philosophy with ranger.

Seeing as they’re basically making the elite specs with 5v5 PVP in mind, I’m not holding out any hope for them to make the Druid effective enough in high-end PVE to drop the thief, ele, guard, or warrior… not to mention it’ll have to be better than Daredevil and Rev for me to give it any play time.
In the email announcing many things – telling us when the release date is and such, it touts the new specializations of every single character profession except Ranger
Any more slaps in the face Anet?
Why is Ranger always the last to get anything and get less of it?
