I noticed this a few days ago when I came back from vacation, but I had to test it further to make sure nothing else was causing it.

Skirmishing Adept Trait II Sharpened Edges – Applies a ~2s bleed instead of a 1s bleed. Makes this much more viable. Proc chance seems to still be about the same though.

Ehh, I just checked it, still 1 second..

That’s without any bonus condition duration.

Why are mine lasting so long? I made sure I had no condition duration bonuses. Hell, I’ll take it.

I just checked it in the mists with no traits but 10 in skirmishing and got 2s bleeds consistently.

Hmm I’m quite sure a necro guildie was talking something similar, 1sec bleed trait been stealth buffed to 2sec… so maybe Anet accidentally (or on purpose) buffed this one too.

Any insight on what we can look forward to in the future Karl? Also some input on why longbow got stealth would be great as that one seemed completely random.

I’ve been using the trait all this time with Runes of Earth so I hadn’t noticed at all!

logged in just to answer that. reasons:

1- disengage/buying time to gain distance for max damage

2- casting barrage safely

3- most importantly, synergy with remorseless , which means you have a guaranteed crit every 9 1/2 seconds with the proper traits, as well as skyrockets your vuln stacking capabilities.

This trait was increased from 1 second to 2 seconds in the June 25th update, but it looks like it missed the notes. Chance to bleed remains the same (66%). Good catch!
@Xsorus (aka Terravos!): Since it counts down from two seconds, it will read one second if you hover over it (though two ticks will occur).
We’re also working on a better system to display traits, so in the future they won’t be ambiguous like they currently are.

Also that’s very useful information, and would explain how I was able to stack the crap out of bleeds very easily
