It’s very possible then that a difference between the PvP environment and the WvW environment is the cause.

I’m going to test it further when I get the opportunity, because I could have sworn that you could actively “stagger step” (adadadad) and strafe the arrows even when using Read the Wind, until I had a streamer friend test it with me (in the PvP testing I described) and neither of us were able to strafe or use any sort of movement skill (non-teleport of course) to avoid each others shots.

If you’re a dagger/pistol thief, don’t focus so much on getting the backstab in. Power rangers, especially s/d, have so many ways to deny the backstab. Play very aggressively, dodge pet cc, and abuse shadowshot and headshot.
