Space Marine Z [GLTY]
Hybrid BeastMaster (GS/SB) - build guide
Space Marine Z [GLTY]
I used this build as an outline and created a couple of my own. The first one is very similar to Valroth’s build, just with some small changes for personal preference. The second one is a Healing Power variant.
I’d like to get this all squared away before I hit 80. Build #1 offers +200 Power, +100 Precision, +150 Vitality, and +9% Critical Damage. Build #2 offers +600 Healing Power.
If I’m going to run Signet of the Wild, that +600 Healing Power from build #2 would be amazing. Plus, I use Healing Spring, so it’d help with that, too. The thing is, I really wanted to stay over 1,800 Power and 40% critical chance. :I
I’m so indecisive. Help? xD

hi all,
wouldn’t get the celestial ascended accessories benefit more with this build, since rangers benefit more from most of the stats(such as healing power and condition dmg) than other classes would?

@rchu – yes, which is why I’ve replaced two of my zerker rings with divinity
@ztales – your first build is quite close to mine. But I’ve put your extra 400 toughness into power and precision.
I would suggest you do that, and run a mango pie for extra regen rather than 600 healing. Mango pie will give you 85hp/s which is almost as much as SotW does with 360 healing.
Its like having two SotW

Sube Dai,
I tried your build variation for a week, did pretty well in WvW. However, if I want to do more with the build as in some PvE / Dungeon content, wouldnt it be better if I not go 30 in marksman but 20 instead, and put that 10 into either skirmish (Moment of Clarity) or beastmastery?

Hi Valroth,
Just a question, if you were to get full ascended jewelry what stats would they be as I can see that you’re mixed emerald and cavalier, would you do 1knights and rest cavalier?
Thanks
im using this same build kinda but with 30 wilderness. Dont have yet cavaliers rings but that is my plan. GS is awesome, just now invaders try to take the fort in wvw and i tanked there zerg like a bauss lol, i almost filled 2 bags with loot launching GS attacks, maul and everything. Plus the movility of GS 3 is awesome, cant live without it, SB is my fav weapon.
I am liking GS so much i am really thinking of getting twilight for my ranger lol.

well there is a calculator skill site which you can add trinkets, gear and everything so you can have an idea of how your character will be before wasting money. In my case armor knights with ranger runes, knight weapons, zerker ascended amulet and accessories n rings cavalier. you get like 2k toughness, almost 50% crit chance and ok crit damage
Great Video! I left some love on YouTube as well.
Since I don’t want to replace all my Ascended items, do you think a more aggressive version could work? This is what I came up with.
Some extra vitality to offset the loss of toughness and a significant increase in damage with Crit% and QZ.
Movement is decreased but, I feel like SoS is worth the sacrifice.

“Rangers LEAD the way.”
BM GS Bunker….Trinkets can be change to a mix of Cleric to get near 500 healing as an option…
Wondering if Hybrid Beastmaster is still a good direction after the patch?
Aside from the shortbow range nerf change and Zephyrs Speed, this should still work, but with less damage from pets.
Slight adjustment to selected traits and you’ll be good to go. Atleast that’s what I think. You can try sending valroth a mail in game and ask him.

I was running a build very similar to the hybrid BM inspired by this build of course.
I left my build as it was after the patch but ultimately I couldn’t decide between pet swap quickness and natural regen both of which make this build so good.
Along with the SB range nerf and pet damage nerf(interestingly the pet dmg nerf I was most concerned about yet didn’t actually break the build for me) I am currently trying a few different variations but in the end I will most likely drop BM altogether

Yea the pet DPS nerf makes me wonder if I should totally drop BM… mmm.
Hey
How does soldier’s gear work with this build, should I get precision runes to make up for the lost precision. Also how is this build for zerging.
Thanks
