Lightning Reflexes
Now that you mention it… No. It is a retreat so it moves your character directly backwards. That is backwards as in the opposite direction your character is facing. If you were to ask whether it should function like Quick Shot I’d probably agree.
Not if you have a target selected.
No. Part of immobilizing someone is locking them out of directional facing. Obviously the camera isn’t limited in this way.
Should/could this change? Sure.
I’d really like to see the damage portion of LR removed and it be replaced with a short duration high stack count Confusion, I just think it would be more useful.
It makes more sense for it to go off of the direction your character is facing. I just wish it did that consistently. I’d say 1 in 30 times it will shoot me in a random direction and end up getting me killed.

I’d say that is caused by server-client lag more than a bug in the skill, ie the client displaying your direction as a different one than the server thinks.

Probably. I’m pretty sure every time it has happened I was in WvW. It happens with every leap skill like that, the other day when leaving the bl spawn to head to south camp my buddy used rocket boots instead of just jumping for the water, his rocket boots made him do a right turn in mid air and smack into the side of the cliff, he ended up fully missing the water and dying to fall damage lol.

Yep, just the untargetted behaviour.

Lightning Reflexes clears immobilize, so it’s a bit odd that immobilize can still have an effect on it.

he meant immobilize prevents you from turning before you break out of it with lightning reflexes. So basically you can’t change your position to aim your lightning reflexes.

I know. It’s the whole point of this thread.
So people should be able to turn while immobilized?
I’m not against being able to “aim” lightning reflexes btw. The other classes have movement stun breaks that are ground targetable, even directly behind their character.
A solution would probably be directional targeting like warriors whirlwind or some of the incoming revenant skills.

No my suggestion isn’t to allow people to turn their character while immobilized.
But to let the untargetted direction depend on the way the camera is facing instead of the character and this only for Lightning Reflexes.
Another way like you suggested could work as well.
