Alright, so following todays failure, me and JC will do a live stream sometime tomorrow (or today if you live in the EU).

Time is not set in stone.

Mode: Not sure, we may do PvE, or WvW or PvP. Haven’t decided yet.

WvW or nothing

I flipped through your posts and didn’t immediately see your build, although I think I remember it being something I didn’t personally enjoy. Was it the trapper build? Or are you a SotF longbow? Apologies if I’m just randomly guessing here, I lose track of forum names.

For me personally, I change my build in PvP every few matches. Outside of PvP, I’ll be available in the twitch chat to let you guys know what I’m running. I’ll also post the gearing I run in WvW (be mindful that I don’t hardcore roam in WvW and run a longbow because I’m a casual) beforehand. I’d do it right now, but I’m pretty intoxicated.

Not to brag or anything, not everybody is “about that life” lol. But if this goes well and I ever start my own streaming, I will do drinking nights on weekends at the very least, guaranteed. Seems like a blast drunk streaming hahaha.

i have a few builds i often run, oviously my Clerics Regen BM is the most commonly used (cuz i spent the time to make full ascended clerics) but i also play Rabid Trapper, glass zerker, Cavaliers + knights tank. And now recently, iv’e been testing a new build with JC as the test subject. Allowing my cat to hit for 9k and river drake for 12k or possibly even higher (if i had done the chains correctly).

So yeah, i do not play a specific build. I play what i need to in order to succeed.

Well my gf who is away for research for the summer stole me away at the time we were supposed to start organizing the gameplay on skype.

Yes it will be on my twitch channel. Durrz cannot join us for more then an hour, and i was thinking of going WvW rather then PvP. In which case durrz cannot join us, as he is on TC.

But if there is some rangers in Crystal Desert, or the enemy servers this week (HoD and ISJ) then please give us a call and we may come over and duel you or stomp you or whatever.

Stream will go live in about 20-30 minutes. We will start a little bit earlier i think, in order to do some stress-testing of my PC and connection stability. Shouldn’t be any issues, but you never know.

This stream will NOT be archived on Twitch, simply because i foresee a billion screwups and bad play this first time on cam. This is just for funz and some casual explaining, once Durrz gets things sorted out, the Ranger Danger stream will go live sometime this week. I hope.

Update: So, 3.5 hours later, I’m grabbing food, and apparently, unless I’m mistaken, this won’t be on VoD, which was planned because apparently something was bound to go horrible wrong (audio problems, Prysin forgetting to unmute himself so I am laughing like a maniac half the time).

THAT BEING SAID. Anybody who did see the stream, feedback? More action next time? The particular time we were streaming is a bad time for NA servers in my tier, and my gear is going to remain suboptimal until I finally get my legendary.

PvP, PvE, Dungeons? Are any of those preferable?

I was only able to watch for a short period due to work. But the parts that I did see I enjoyed. For me, I don’t prefer any game mode over another when it comes to Ranger streams. I’m just happy to see more and more Ranger streams popping up.

I think we need more taking SMC with troll commanders.

Thanks to whoever was watching tonight. As was stated in the stream and by JC here, this was a live only show. There will be no chance of viewing it (not that it was worth lookin it up as i screwd up several things). But yeah, ill stream some more ranger play later on.

I watched a little bit of it. My favorite part was the party wipe to the camp NPCs a few minutes in to the stream…

Anywho, I know it’s pure luck, but a bit more skill play would be nice. Ideally you guys would have had a 3 v 5 or something. Easier said than found.

yeah, the first hour of the stream was pretty dull. But once we moved onto EB we had some good fights and fun moments, but that was like 1 hour 30 min + into the stream.

Then Durrzla’s girlfriend took over for him for a little bit before we moved on. The stream ended with me going YoloQ, failing hard to get anything done properly….

Idk if it was the late hour but in pvp u could look far better for ur Team mates.
Team rezzing and looking where help is really needed and not needed are just Little things that can Change a whole game.
Nevertheless it was interesting to watch u playing.

I aint that good of a PvP player yet, and yes, it was like 3am when i finally ended the stream.

Ill start some PvP streaming in 30-40 minutes. Followed by WvW streaming later on.

If anyone got some builds they want me to test in WvW, list them here. This stream will be saved for VoD later on.

Because even in EU T1 it is not much more “alive” outside prime then it is in T4 NA during prime…. NA got better coverage in summer, also NA (in the wast general) got better overall coverage.
I also moved over to partake in the NA ToL2 tourney. Although not much has happened in that department.
Im also sic and tired of the EU meta that forces you to play max condi removal or you die… i prefer to play power builds (which does work better in EU, if you got a million ways to cleanse condi bombs)

In general i have the Feeling in EU Player rather 1vX u than do it 1v1. Thats what make me sick.

in the higher tiers, yes. Its 1vX or 1vSomeone trying to run. However, in EU i can easily play 02660 celestial Sword+Torch and GS without worrying. I will have enough damage and condition cleanse to make it. That build however does not work in NA due to the different meta.
I prefer the NA meta which is basically zerker or PvT WvW and something bunkerish in PvP. Its fine, and if you saw yesterdays stream, you realize that when 2 rangers can troll around in WvW and one of them (me) is playing Clerics shortbow and actually kills people… that says a LOT.

I never played in NA or watched streams there, but when i hear from a friend, a great PvP Guard, that the NA Player are weaker and i saw yesterday u killed someone with SB crits around 440…i could believe it a bit.
But to be fair, in EU the typical WvW´er are just strong in zerg, outside they are weak or Play the current EU OP-meta.

Gonna start the stream within 40 minutes. Stay Tuned. I will be playing WvW, and i will be testing the new nomad armor. Which is insanely expensive, trinkets + armor costs over 300 gold to craft.

I have to admitt curiousity to see the game with a different meta, but in the nicest possible way having watched your stream yesterday I think I’d hate it.

The build you were using is more or less everything I hate in a build and if thats the sort of build that is effective over there I’m much better off here Dont take it personally, its a clash of playstyles thing rather than a judgement on you or your play

NA is less about individual skill and more about collective effort. A group of random NA players are actually more likely to cooperate on what we in EU would recognize as a “high level of group play” then a group of random EU’s would. This is why when you reach T1 NA, you see less strong guilds during each prime, but a more overall solid coverage. SO while EU stacks 10-20 superior guilds in a window of 5-6 hours, NA puts 30 mediocre guilds spanning 12-18 hours. This allows for amazingly active play, almost any time of the day. I will note that NA T1 roaming is horrible, you will ever only meet groups of 3 consisting of 2x p/d perplex thief + 1 nike warrior or 2x nike warrior + p/d perplex thief. There is no variation to this setup. If you can kill em, they run, if you ain’t that good they will 3v1 you, without even considering to make it a fair fight.

NA in general is a lot more open to new players, while in EU you usually have to earn your place rather then being given one.

I think this was one of the reasons why I ended up coming back to EU after a month or two. Over at NA people just didn’t seem to care about fun or fair fights. Red is dead and they would do pretty much anything to win, even make their motherblob port back just for your tiny little group. Sadly over here at EU people are just stacking condi classes, but I can live with that since there’s a bigger chance to bump into people who are up for fair fights.

It’s for real. We plan on doing the best we can. We are positive that going all the way is near impossible. Even to the semi-finals is going to be difficult. We do expect to win a few though. So we will see. Our team consists of 5 Rangers who have never played together in team que yet. Last night it was just 4 of us and only 3 were on teamspeak. Out of the 5 matches we played, we won 3. And we were mainly testing out different builds, trying to click as a team etc.

Haha, I’m sure we will mess around with an all Spirit team just for the LOL’s. But, in the actual tourny I highly doubt it. Although, depending on the other team comp you never know. If it’s an AOE heavy team we were going against, then most likely not.
