Nightmare Runes
Jakqi and I were trying out new ranger builds and we stumbled upon Nightmare Runes.
The (6)Fear got bumped from 1s to 2s. If you’re familiar with Xsorus/Terravos Technobabble build, this rune can be quite powerful on a ranger.
With Moment of Clarity and 100% Condition Duration, you can maximize this fear to 8s.
Shortbow
I’d also like to mention that the Shortbow is back. Now that it has 2 sigil slots, we can capitalize its attack speed on 2 crit proc sigils without investing too heavily on Precision, my personal preference being Earth and Torment with a crit chance of around 40%. You may even want to try Sigil of Air if you are going for a hybrid build.
Combining
The Fear from the runes allows your shortbow to bleed more from flanking. You can also chain CC the Fear with Wolf, and follow it up with Technobabble to allow your stacks to tick further. Jungle/Black Widow spider and Entangled are also a deadly combo to help with flanking those that have stability.
Also note: Fear stacks in duration. However, stuns and dazes do not. They will override the previous hard CC so do not chain CC immediately.
