Guild Wars 2

i just took my last piece of this set(Rubicon)…i did not have time to try it yet…but i think it is going to go good with my long sword/ long bow build…i want opinion from other people playing ranger…is this the good one for wvw and pvp , or i will need to change it.

also i would like to hear some advices about my class when it comes to wvw roaming i am not a noob, but i am new at this game…i posted few topics but had no replies…i hope this would be different

and i forgot to mention it is Soldier s Rubicon set

Soldier stats is not really good for roaming, since power without precision and ferocity is very lackluster.
The defensive nature of that set is ok for zerg fights so you can survive quite well there but you won’t offer much utility or damage, you’ll pretty much just soak damage and be a meat shield.

Roaming rangers usually go almost glass cannon, like zerker/valkyrie set, or go condition/regen builds (rabid or dire or apothecary sets).

so the point is ….this rubicon soldier build is good for pve and boss events…and i need new one for wvw and pvp ? just so i get things straight :P

Rubicon is good in boss events since most are immune to critical hits anyway, but dungeons and general open world events, zerker is better since you don’t need survival at all.

In PvP you don’t even use your armor, your stats will be based entirely in your pvp amulet and runes, so 1 less set to get haha.

In WvW as I said in larger fights (zergs) you’ll be fine, for roaming you won’t be as effective as you could be, but you’ll do just fine.

I’d suggest getting zerk gear and weapons and if you are dying too easily just replace 1 or 2 of your trinkets with Knights or soldiers to give yourself some more toughness/vitality.
