Well, if the old turret Engi can do it, why not ranger if it’s as OP as you claimed?
A truly superior specs would be able to “carry” the team to some degree.
You are right about Ranger being a class with a low skill floor, meaning players new to it can have some success in unranked queues where you fight against people who are inexperienced.
However, the skill cap of the class against competent players is way higher. You need to micro-manage your pet extremely well (lots of cancel-casting) to be able to use the full potential of the class while landing your own weapon skills. It’s something that can be hard to do especially during team fights.
It doesn’t matter who i’m fighting against. I’m on a class with zero hours played vs people who at least have sunk enough time to lvl and fully equip the character they are playing.
Most of the time they are their mains.
I have NO business having this much success having invested literally no time learning the profession. I should be nothing but a liability in a match on a ranger.
But I’m not….

Yup on the surface rangers a easy class ….. i think all classes have at least ONE build that is just easy peasy vrs clueless HJ players. You play a thief from your 20 pages of QQ concerning WvW thiefs got boring so you come here and smack talk a class that has ZERO representation in the upper tiers with any spec? Do you get that man……..
Ranger is easy to pick up BUT as hard as any other to master, it’s all about positioning, pet control being able to target multiple players with pet, no way is a celes ele, condi eng, wells necro and especially a shoutbow lol warrior any harder. mabey they take an extra day to leran skills that’s about it.
Believe me when you face a good ranger and your dead as soon as the SS you’re running wheres off you say wait what just happened, I couldn’t even hit that guy wtf HAX!
Tho we’re getting side tracked. This isn’t thief vs ranger but rather on how little skill is required to play ranger.
