Yes, but that’s not what was intended with this list. It should give some ideas and opinions from players, nobody is expecting ANet to just change it this way. They should just know what could be better, take some ideas, work them out and implement them in a balanced way. Even if 3 of this things would get reworked it would be a great win situation because it would be already something ANet would do about this class.

I think they could take off the leaps on sword autoattack #1 and it wouldnt hurt me a bit. Even when I know to dodge, wvw can be so laggy I’m totally locked in place anyway. Everything else about sword I really enjoy.

Sword 1 Combo Chain :

  1. Pounce – Leap and Damage (the only leap in the chain, 250 range), 1/4s Activation time
  2. Kick – Cripple and Damage (no longer a leap) ,1/2s Activation time
  3. Slash – Pet Might and Damage, 3/4 Activation time

The chain will have same execution time (1/2 + 1/4 +3/4), but you will be rooted for only 0.25s.

Yea if anything just a leap on the first of the chain would be most useful, to get into range (then preferably just cycle between the other two). I think they didnt do that however as it would be used to bunny hop all over the place with no cooldown.

…maybe just make sword #3 a short gap closer instead of the round about thing?
(edit: actually it kind of already is, it will close a short gap… maybe a bit longer then… lol)

Aren’t the leaps in Sword#1 leftovers from when the kick caused knockback? It seems like when they changed it to cripple they forgot to remove the leap.

I’d rather they don’t change Serpent Strike. The round about motion is the most useful thing the skill has to offer even if it is unusable in some locations.

I think low range on the leap would prevent ppl from hopping around like mad or they can make the chain Slash-Pounce-Kick. As long as the activation time on the leap is short and the leap has low range, just enough to keep you in range, the root will be negligible.

What do I ‘want’ to see?
1) A completely revamped pet system including new AI and a full pet interface with precise control over our pets actions and skills.
2) New and improved sword and longbow weapons, rebuilt from the ground up. Possibly the addition of a new 1h main handed weapon option.
3) Completely overhauled ranger skill and trait synergies to remove trait dependencies for basic effectiveness of some available mechanics, including a new set of skills that replaces all of our shouts and many new minor traits to replace the poorly designed ones.
4) A properly implemented commander and squad system – not ranger specific, but one of my largest pet peeves about this game.

What do I ‘expect’ to see?:
1) A few minor tweaks to weapon damage and one or two condition changes that will spawn endless argument on the forums with one side saying the changes made us godmode while the other side complains that a minor tweak completely ruined their zomgwtfbbq amazing super secret build and now we will never be good at anything ever again.
2) A revealed buff aimed at screwing thieves implemented on an otherwise completely useless skill that no one will slot anyways, and for all the whining it causes will make zero real world difference to thieves.
3) A major pet HP buff that – if applied to WvW – will make negligible difference to pet survival in encounters involving more than 10 people a side, but will make a half decent ranger completely unstoppable against newer or slower players and all NPC’s and will even further godmode the Ranger’s downed state #3 skill underwater leading to even more tears on the forums that the Rangers single biggest strength – albeit highly situational and uncommon, especially since the removal of most water in WvW – should be nerfed into oblivion. This coupled with the anti thief mechanic above will lead to Rangers being further pushed away from organized WvW activity and further reinforce the communities feelings that we should be off alone somewhere soloing a camp and ruining a troll thief’s life instead of smashing faces with the rest of them.

Sorry… I’m in a foul mood and that’s partially just a vent of frustration at the world in general today directed at the Ranger class in GW2.

- Make pet names that stays until u change them.

- Make “sik ’em” visible in some way… Atm u have to guess or count time to figure when it is not active any more.

- Batter pet AI

- Make it able for us to see the conditions/buffs our pets have without having to target it. It could have a bar where party members are if it’s getting too much info to put over the skill bar.

- and some wishful thinking…. GRIFFONS that are tamable
