A different type of weapon swap
Just some notes from “Special Revenant & Stronghold Test”
I agree Torsailr, for the most part.
Weapon + Stance build design.
It seems there is a definite combination to weapons and stances. Staff + Ventari, Hammer + Jalis, and Mace|Axe + Mallyx. While they worked very well in those combinations they lacked the same punch if you went out of the box and mixed staff+Mallyx, for example. That being said, it makes you want to stick with ONE legendary more often rather than swapping as much—due to the loss of the combination power. After battles we would often swap weapons for my stance based on what we thought we might use most.
It would be nice if we could at least swap between the weapon sets coinciding with our currently configured stance choices. Though that would probably be some major coding
Or some other solution???? Is it possible to add a check box next to the weapons section on the hero equipment panel? Then we could place a check mark on the weapons we want available to swap with our stances. Kinda like how we can chose to show or hide the helmet check box, only it will grant swap ability if 2 of the 4 weapon slots are filled and have checks.
Or, best / worst case just give us one F1 that we can change stance options when not in combat. And remove Stance swapping. That way we know we need to equip a new weapon if we are going to change stance.
It feels like you must chose a weapon+stance combo to pick while playing, rather than flexibility without loss of power (Staff+Mallyx). So if that is going to remain the case please tie weapon swapping to stance. I don’t like that being taken away , but in this case it works.

I personally don’t like the idea to have these weapons be locked to a specific Legend. What I feel Arenanet has to to is to further update the weapons to a way where the weapons can be used flexibly with most of the Legends. The weapons should have synergy with whatever Legend you want to pick.
Ex. Staff can work with both Jalis and Ventari, Dual Swords with Shiro and Jalis, Mace/Axe with Mallyx and Shiro, etc. All the Legends should compliment with most of the weapons, not have teach weapon tied down to a specific one.
Total armor sets tied to stances.
This would truly feel like their role was suddenly changed in combat.
To compensate, have a higher cooldown on stance swapping.
You can go from DPS to actual tank if you so choose, but then you have to live with the consequences of switching.
This would be a bit expensive for PvE and WvW, unfortunately. Especially if you want all your ascended jazz (good thing those stay account bound, hey?)
This would require a bit more implementation for PvP (and obviously, some balancing fun, having such a powerful ability available).
And the part that hurts is Fractals, ’cause AR. And nobody wants to get 35+ AR for TWO ARMOR SETS. One is tedious enough.
Oh, and yeah, equipment breaking? Say your helmet breaks, then both helmets are broken (easier than having a bajillion parts to break.)
