Legend Particle Effects at Character's Wrists
Maybe it’s just me, but the hand glowing seems a lot more faded this time around. Am I just imagining it?
It is by far not as bright as it was in bwe2, thats right
I thought so. I know I’ve mostly been a proponent for keeping them on all the time, but I’d rather have brighter, combat only hand glow than the lesser, always on version we got this time around.
I’d be happy if we got a brighter combat glow but a dimmer non-combat glow, just as long as the glow was still there OoC. (if anything, that would improve Rev’s flavor: you are always channeling, but in combat you access more power)
Yeah, I like that! I’m not sure why the fiery glow was toned down so much. Roy, please make it so.
so basically, off while out of fight, entering a fight a nice burst and then the glow for the fight. its fine. btw, when changing legend you get a short stronger burst glow
No
Dim whilst out of a fight (dimmer than current if you really wanted, just as long as it’s THERE, revenants always channeling is an important part of their lore)
Strong when in a fight
and a short flare when changing or entering combat.
it makes sense from a lore perspective (you access more power when in a fight, but still maintain a connection out of combat), and satisfies all parties except the ones who want no glow OoC at all (no matter how faint), or the ones who want perma-full glow
i’m still not a fan of an out of combat glow.
i could live with a pulsing like glow, that most of the time is off but once in a while a dim light glows, indicating that the legend speaks to you?

It makes no sense from a lore perspective because even though we KNOW that Revenants channel 24/7 we don’t know how the hand glow is / should be related to that.

Because the Legends are empowering your actions? How does that not make sense? Point to the lore that says your hands aren’t supposed to glow please.
Where does the lore say that the empowerment exprimes itself in any visual effect?
Where does the lore say that the empowerment exprimes itself in any visual effect?
…the fact that it SHOWS IT INGAME?
visuals are just as much lore as dialog is.
or are you going to try and suggest that the glowing coming from our hands that changes colour when we switch stances is NOT related to our stances? because in which case I will say “then what causes it?”

actual Calcifier has a good point. And if we want to got for lore we should use a important Revenant NPC, let say….Rytlock? He channels glint, but has no Hand Glow? So Legends don’t cause Handglow confirmed?
Really dislike the effect when trying to colour coordinate (it’s a thing of mine…) but I can live with it I suppose.

I LOVE the wrist effect, it’s great flavor for the class, Revs are always channeling (apparently, the legends even chat to you out of combat) so it makes sense the effect is always there.
why not go for the middle-ground? it’s always on,but it is removed when using the reduced particle effects option?
I’d personally be very sad if it was removed.
I didn’t say remove it permanently anywhere? If you read the post, you’d see that it would be visible in the same conditions that the elementalist attunement wristlets are visible.
To clarify:
1. Invisible when weapons are stowed
2. Visible when weapons are drawnAnd from a flavor perspective, constantly being on mistfire makes very little sense. When their power is really invoked and manifested, like when a person is about to fight or attacking, it makes perfect sense and is a flavor win for sure. Just standing around in a trading post it would get strange looks from bystanders. (at least until the world was acclimated to 1/9th of the population with their arms on green fire, which I guess could happen?)
The key difference being from an elementalist the legends are always active. They speak to you outside of combat too where as an elementalist could simply calm there powers, I think the partial effect graphic option would be best I like the effects around my wrists while I’m chilling it makes me feel like I am still in control of the legend who is talking my ear off outside combat
I get it that we all want different things but it’s surprising that the people who wants this glowing wrist change isnt bothered with the herald ground icon, which stands out by far more :p
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore

The ground icon can be shut off with not using a facet. there is an option. thats the huge difference

It’s not really an option though since the point with glint is to run with one or two facets active, like swiftness for roaming or fury/prot/might as support. If you have glint you’ll spend the majority of your time with the ground icon graphic.

While true, what some people in this thread are requesting is OoC changes to the hand glow. When you’re standing in Lion’s Arch, for example, you can turn off Glint’s Facets— but you can’t with the hands. And that’s the main issue that was brought up by the OP.
Love the particle effects even when I am not in combat. Please do not remove, add a toggle if you must but do not remove.

Exactly this!!

Keeeeeep it!
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.
I would love to see a toggle or at least see it off when out of combat. Because we have two legends it’s almost impossible to find colors that suit both of them.
Leveled the Rev the real way to 80 and while fighting you dont notice the glow, got exotic armor, did changed skin and color to my taste…..and the hand glow ruins everything!
