Sword’s skills are probably an early prototype of what turned out to be their current Mace skillset. Anet was probably testing which weapon would fill the condition playstyle they wanted, and mace was the clear winner. Thus, mace’s skills were already officially announced, while sword’s weren’t yet.

On a side note, OH Dagger’s existence and its quickness skill are so Shiro-esque, that I bet the revenant’s specialization will be Shiro+OH Dagger.

I dont think so. Hammer and axe offhand have both chill. And staff will most likely have a 4 second cripple on a 6 second cd. How is that a lack of soft cc?

I was mostly referencing to mace/sword/dagger. Overall the chill doesnt last long but its k as thats is really a strong condition but..where is immobilize?

Staff – good direct damage (sum of 310 on auto chain), cleave with the longest reach of the melee weapons (i.e. strong on AoE) sice sword probably only does small damage at , lots of crowd control. Staff #4 is very support-focused, and looks a bit suicidal if you don’t stack up on defense from utility skills beforehand.
Sword – potentially as much direct damage as the staff (sum of 319 on autoattack if the third attack hits four times (60+60+33+33; maybe the 33 is only at 130-300 range though taking it down to sum of 220), slightly faster stated attack speed) and some minor condition damage, but no cleave. I suspect this will be a good leveling weapon, I’ve found other single-target hybrid damage good at low levels.
Mace – half as much direct damage (sum of 135 on auto chain) with cleave, minor might stacking, some mobility, and most importantly permanent burning and poison. Good for personal storyline with all that AoE? The least group-oriented weapon given the non-stacking conditions.
Hammer – revenant version of ranger longbow, but with more combo abilities. I expect to see this weapon a lot in open world group content.
Axe – if the enemy is moving and there aren’t more utility mobility skills, this offhand will be very important for being able to hit anything.
Dagger – defensive like the ranger dagger. Direct damage is 19 dps, similar to the 17 dps on axe.
Shield – I wonder what the 6 second 3 stack effect is on shield #5… anyway it’s support, with big heal numbers and massive recharge (30s and kitten. I guess it’ll be good for running in and saving some key NPC (escort and defense events).

They’re all completely different.

They’re all completely different.

Placeholders yes, but doesn’t mean without merit. It gives an idea of what type of weapon they are expecting these to be. And as for Betas, I was there too and although they were much different, the same could still be said for them then than I’m saying here now. No reason to be derogatory towards people who are using these skills to speculate.

It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Place holders or not we saw our lord and savior mr Pop with sword that applied torment in the POI if we think about it..and the last hit on aa looked exacly like final thrust on warrior so it actually fits with 3/4 casttime on the end of aa. We also most likely saw skill 3 where he turned into a mist. Ofc these skills could change completely by that time but thats really up to devs. Its always better to voice your opinion before its too late anyway, even if that stuff is olny a placeholder.

So it seems that leaked skills on sword and dagger was modified if we use the code ingame now.

Sword:

Dagger;
[&BxFvAAA=] – doesnt work anymore
[&B5tvAAA=]
[&B8JpAAA=]

Sword became 100% power weapon with projectile deflection on 2cd! Number 3 still has 15cd but now it also have listened number of hits (7) which fits what we have seen in the trailer.

Dagger became a cc weapon with knockdown and 600 range pull

Staff and shield remain the same. Added pic

First time I’m seeing these so I’m a little cautious, but I sincerely hope these are correct. Sword and dagger actually seem like really cool weapons if that’s the case. Looking forward to seeing the final versions.

The legends are where it’s at bruh, I doubt any of the role of the revenant would fail they are based from other professions and were enhanced 5 classes in necro,guard,thief,ele,warrior I bet it will get stealth no soldiers have it and also $$$,

Yeah, he does. But he also seems to have some sort of “projectile hate” and freaking high damage so i guess it is how they make up for that. Also a lot of hard cc. Seems fun, i wonder how it will turn off as he still lack that mighty “thief mobility” in combat.

The boon/vitality legend for ele the ferocity legend for war, they already have Shiro thief, Mallyx necro, Jallis guard so that leaves out Glint and Ventari. They won’t be UP is what is certain, watch him take places.

Well my guess is that profession traitline with ferocity belongs to glint while vit/boon to ventari. For that reason https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ventari%27s_Chisel

Weapons seems to be in that order

Hammer – Jalis
Mace – Mallyx
Sword – Shiro
Staff – Ventari

Offhands doesnt seems to have a theme and they are purely utility weapons based on a choice what we want to have. For example axe can be great for condi but it also seems to deal high damage in power build as well.

Well, they have all their bases covered so far. Staff for support mace/ axe conditions, hammer ranged, and now dual sword for direct physical. All we need is a shield for defense to match the dwarf legend. Hammer fits slightly but it is solely a range weapon. Zero usefulness up close.
