Should I reroll?
I understand your sentiments. I actually deleted mine for awhile when I didn’t have the character slots to play Warrior as well, but ultimately when I purchased another slot, I remade my Revenant.
I really love the idea behind them, but it feels like their potential is heavily stifled by bugs and balance problems. I still play mine because I can find it interesting, and I still hope that something changes for the better each patch.
I wouldnt say that you should re-roll, but feel free to take a break from your Rev if needed. Play one of the other professions and explore their abilities. Make use of your Rev for crafting stuff if needed. Maybe sooner or later you’ll feel a tug to play him/her again, but until that time, do what brings you the most enjoyment.
This game will always nerf something to joke state and buff something to op state. If you think they let war stay the way he is now then good luck. It will be nerfed eventually, when is up to devs.
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.
@OP totally agree with you how uninspiring power rev is to play with sword. I really like to use staff, as its more reaction based play. 1-2k dps diff isnt too huge.
Also have you given condi rev a try? It’s not the most optimal as its ramp up time is extremely long, but does pump out good numbers(got up to 19k dps last time I ran a raid with mine) if you can get past the 25 second ramp up time. I personally enjoy how bouncy mace is on an asura. It’s rotation is a lot more involved too.

I wouldn’t say balance changes are what has ruined the class. More or less bugs and lack of tools that haven’t been there since day one.
I Play WvW to have fun. I don’t find it fun anymore. Therefore I don’t play.
The revenant is gutted patch after patch like thief used to be. Switch to berserker and never look back.
I am more interested in how class feels overall, not is it OP or not. I play for fun and its important that it fills me with joy while I play it
Power Rev is my kind of thing(I am not into condition playstyle), but its not fun thanks to class being unfinished.
I used to main warrior in vanilla so I will probably get back to it if ANET doesnt do something about rev soon enough, as my finghers start to hurt from hitting that 1st button on keyboard :P
P.S. how do you run fast on warrior nowdays anyway, as Warrior’s Sprint is not used anymore?
DPS Rev has always been boring af in PvE and it isn’t going to change anytime soon. Sword as weapon lacks synergy between skills (there’s no alternative to sword) and Legends don’t really matter in raid environment, as long as they provide some minimal damage increase. If you don’t plan on playing PvP or roaming on WvW with this profession, as it currently stands, Revenant might be the most boring DPS to play after Hammer Guardian in PvE. Not like other professions are interesting there imo, but still.
It’s problem with both PvE and Revenant.

I main Condi-Rev and don’t take it into raids because the dps is so bad and the ramp up time is so long. You’re right about the rotation though… Holy kitten is Condi Rev so much fun. I just wish they’d actually give the Condi Rev(PvE) the TLC it’s deserved since they gutted it after the betas. I also play mine on an Asura, and between hopping all over the place with Unyielding Anguish and the mace skills, I have so much fun!
PLEASE Anet, buff the Condi-Rev in PvE… either that or, ya know, split the specs between PvE/WvW/PvP
DPS rev would be fun if they fixed sword skills a bit, making 3rd skill viable ^^
