notice that our other spear skills are dual-natured: a poison bubble that explodes for direct damage, a DoT application over time that can be consumed for a shadowstep.
our #1 ability would be useless for power builds, but having a power based AA would be bad for condi builds, so we get two AA’s, one power, one condi
Yeah, this is what they probably wanted to do for Revenant’s terrestial weapons too (rather than giving weapon swap), but I imagine they couldn’t get it working well enough in time for HoT release.
