What exactly is OP or Broken about Revenant?
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.
Not sure how I lost you at soothing bastion, it’s a viable option to stall and heal with as a passive defense and with increased boon duration with shield. All Herald GMs are good and viable, EB and SB being the more annoying over elders force.
This is what’s OP about Revenant: it’s the only new profession. Yes, the others got new traits and weapons, but none of them got a fundamentally new mechanic, with the exception maybe of druid… but it’s new mechanic doesn’t overwhelm an opponent with new choices to make. The revenant’s mechanic is new.
Everyone has 3 years of experience fighting against the other profession mechanics. Even with the new elites… people still can look at the traits and know what to do without thinking about it. Revenant… they have to think.
On the other hand, a revenant doesn’t have to think about any non-revenant opponent’s mechanics, and has to think less about other rev’s.
Here’s the think about competition: the more one has to think, the slower one is to respond.
When people have sufficient experience against Rev to fight them without thinking about it… then the intrinsic OP factor of Rev will be gone. Only then can the mechanics be truly evaluated.
I dont have to when you even know your own class, in quote

At this point you cannot be taken serious, amber. Bai.
Ps. i dont play gw anymore
just shows you don’t have a clue what I’m talking about
a thief will heartseaker through the field multiple times
first time if he hits you he will yes stealth, but even then oftenly reveal himself because of automatic auto attack that some ppl have
and yes they will HS 2 or 3 times

….I’m sure a lot of Thieves turn off auto-attack for that very reason. We shouldn’t consider revealing themselves as the default situation because most good Thieves wont let it happen at all.
Now, they don’t HAVE to HS 2 or 3 times. If they know it’ll get them revealed, a single combo is enough to make some distance and then do it again.
I’m questioning your knowledge of Thief.

what is was saying was in the context of how to counter a thiefs stealth, not the way i play, but the way most thieves play, and most thieves are bad
I was counting up several situations where and how you can counter stealth because some ppl still act like it’s the most op thing in the game
which it’s not

lol first you talk kitten and give out only wrong info and kitten about systems not even in the game and when you have someone who doesn’t even know what our entire discussion was about backing you up you suddenly grow balls?
This game is unbalanced from top to bottom, that is why so many ppl are leaving gw
can’t wait to see 80% of the rev community reroll to the next op class as soon as you get nerfed, make sure you have a scrapper or necro ready
My info wasnt wrong actually, sry. And i dont even play gw2 anymore, for me you can delete rev or nerfs all his abilities to hit 1 max and i wont care really

What info was wrong? You’re the one assuming the Thief player’s an idiot.
And if we wanted to reroll to the most OP thing, we would have already instead of playing inferior builds like core Rev or Ventari (or not playing gw2 at all).
Well tbh, my only problem with rev is how it makes my warrior completely useless in pvp. Sure damage is about the ‘same’, even though the cooldowns on some rev skills are far to short, looking at the amount of damage they give out… Revs just have more utility, more dps and more sustain than a warrior (counting on berserker stance and endure pain isn’t really a good option)… Sure dps on burn warrior is good, and its even better on gunflame warr, but still, it just seems VERY lackluster compared to the utility and dps that the rev offers.
Here is what i think would be the best scenario, when viewed from a pvp standpoint. Nerf all classes except warrior, thief and maybe guard. Give eles the option to go dps, without being squishy as kitten. I think queue times would be too high i you went with the “only one class of the same type, per team, per game” idea, but something needs to be done, and atm there are only 7 classes in pvp (thief and ele is split in 2 halves and warrior doesnt count as a class :P)
Dont get me wrong, i arent hating on rev for being ‘op’, and i myself played op classes to get to legendary, primarily ele support, necro and engi. But i still dont like the fact that the current balance and the current classes, make other classes completely useless. NO class is tankier than engi, NO class give the amount of physical damage that the rev does, NO class can compete with necro when you look at the amount of condies it gives and NO class even come close to compete with the ele when looking at support/healing.
Tf is up with retribution line being passive? Most traits are passive. What you want retribution to do? Please give me a list of non passive traits to retribution. Honestly some things i see in this thread are absurd really.
There are good passives and bad passives. We reduce some damage, yep, ok. Is it gamebreaking? No. Meanwhile we have reaper swings his scythe in air gaining might due to trait and my guess is thats an “active trait” in eyes of many.. cus reaper has to press 1 in air. So active, wow
doesnt matter, reaper, rev, scrapper are all going to be nerfed either that or low tier classes are going to be buffed big time, if anet wants some kind of balance in the game
Well tbh, my only problem with rev is how it makes my warrior completely useless in pvp.
I don’t get your point. Warrior is incredibly strong in 1v1 situaitions. You can kill everything with a Full Zerk GS+Gunflame Warrior. Rifle deals ridiculous unblockable damage, GS gives ridiculous mobility. Even if your opponent can catch you, you have at least two 5 sec. Invuln. to set up a new unblockable burst.
If you are a hotjoin hero, warrior is the class to go.
The problem with warrior is his lack of team support. Every other class does more for the team than a warrior – not just the revenant. If you nerf revenant a warrior still has no team support and a thief still dies in 1 second in every team fight. This would change nothing.

Except they don’t even do the same things if you look at both beyond damage dealing.

Most classes offer more utility and support than Warriors, not even just Revenants. Eles and their boons/condi clears, Druids and their healing/SnR, Scrappers and their party stealth and sustain on point, Mesmer/Chrono and their Wells/Portal/Moa…the only professions who don’t really offer much to the party are Warriors, Thieves, and DH to an extent.

Some ESpecs are indeed somewhat overtuned, but that’s a ridiculous idea, especially when MANY of the base professions need to have their core traits and skills re-adjusted. For Revenants, Ventari and Jalis are still garbage, much like a Warrior’s Physical skills are near useless compared to their other utilities.
Dont get me wrong, i arent hating on rev for being ‘op’, and i myself played op classes to get to legendary, primarily ele support, necro and engi. Again, yes, many of the ESpecs are extremely powerful and need some downscaling, but flat out nerfing everything instead of tweaking the Especs and their synergy with a FIXED core profession(s) would be a better long term solution than just making everything less effective because of whatever complaint someone finds OP enough to cry about after getting stomped.
I don’t get it either op, its pretty horrible from what i’ve played.

Revenant isn’t something that holds Warrior behind or useless. It’s Warrior design after Specialization Patch.
Let’s say Revenant is unplayable – you still have the other 7 elite specializations, some stepping on old Warrior niches far more than Revenant (tanky Scrapper and CC for example). And being completly honest, Condi Warrior’s best 1v1 is Power Revenant atm.
Warrior has very basic design Berserker really hasn’t improved at all and doesn’t have whole lot of utility – it’s also about landing burst or chain bursting and such things are just unviable against sustain powercreep many builds have nowadays.

The person he is arguing with seems to think stealth makes one invulnerable. Something about stealth blocking attacks. Even mentioning SR only having /slight/ counterplay… …… ….. …….. There aren’t enough dots to express how hard my eyes are rolling.

It’s a pseudo-invulnerability.
It doesn’t directly stop you from taking damage, but it REALLY helps you avoid it.
A good thief was/is hard to pin down and kill if they’re not limited to a small area (like Conquest).
All that being said, even a decent Thief wont stupidly reveal themselves with an Auto-Attack, so considering that at all is worthless.
The skills are, 50% of revenant skills don’t even work for me..
