Something I would like to see is a rework of the skill you obtain from stealing from an engineer. When you steal from every other class you get something that can effectively disable or turn the fight in your favour if used properly.. Maybe it’s just me, but the engineers stolen item I feel doesn’t do more than waste a second of valuable dps getting rid of it. xD
Not every thief is power and the extra condi/confusion especially help vs ele/engi/mesmer if you can CC them or use combo finishers ,sure it can prevent stealth but it has it’s uses. On topic a few condi trappers exist and I appreciate the IP buff like using it in pve. They just need to do those every 3 months.
The Dhuumfire thread
Anet should keep/record data on which skills are used and which are not… 3/5 of the changes are interesting, and then the two trap ones are kind like “meh, still not going to use them. Thanks for trying”.
From where do you think that the might stacking meta came from?
Anet has an OBLIGATION of tweaking the less used skills until they become viable.
Really, that would be impressive… Sometimes it seems the changes are a bit random…
I don’t think they have an obligation, that’s a bit too strong. Not sure they even have a true/strong interest. It should be in their interest though.
…
To me this is a further power nerf (although I know it’s also a condi nerf) and I feel that thieves don’t really need that or no one does*. So, I might (haha) be able to buffer it, but at the moment I’m just a bit annoyed.-* I still don’t know enough about other classes to say whether or not this will really effect them or if they also have desperate builds to deal with the April 15th crit nerf.
Yeah that’s what it seems to me too. They attempted to do the same thing with the crit dmg to ferocity switch, this might just be a continuation of it. Pretty sure it also stems from a PvE context (more so than others), where conditions are less used due to how they’re stacked amongst a group of people and not per individual basis (which would have it’s own problems, like bosses melting too fast) – that and bosses having that buff that also discourages condition usage.
Either way, the might changes I don’t consider them a direct/targeted nerf to thieves since it’s happening across all profs. Just a nerf/change across the whole board.

I never meant to imply that thieves were targeted with this nerf, I just think that anet didn’t really consider what the crit nerf did to thieves (with that I really mean the class) and what this might nerf is doing to certain builds/purposes (with that I mean all roamers in wvw) – I probably couldn’t care less if I were in a zerg 24/7 but I can’t be in a zerg since last april. And well, I think they should really think about separating wvw from pve as all these changes are really messing with wvw. And since they seem to be a bit overwhelmed when it comes to wvw… it might be best to just leave it alone. Or employ some people who are interested in wvw and not just T1.
My build will be buffed __
I miss the old black powder :’(
i miss the old black powder too. thieves are easily out-sustained by immunity, protection, armor, blind, block, being an asura(lol), CC, fear runes, constant aoe to keep us from even going in for the burst. not to mention channeling which is one of the main reasons we take so much damage. the funny thing is you find nearly everything i stated on most meta builds these days.
Id like the ability to be able to have a shot against those meta builds by bringing back black powder so that we can stay in the fight longer with a fair pulsing black powder that allows the other team more than enough ability to still counter it will skillful 3rd hits and movement that gets them away from black powder just not in a way that lets any moron sit in black powder and swing away chunking the thief as if there is nothing even below their feet which is whats currently happening to everyone
On top of that i would like to see the revealed put back to 3 secs in pvp since it was stated by anet to combat theives in wvw from stealthing as long as they want. The difference is in pvp thieves cant just do nothing by sitting in stealth you are forced to constantly be putting pressure out.
i have this crazy theory that thief is supposed to be hard to catch or hit o i know crazy right
