It is looking really really bad for thieves this xpac. It’d be great if someone from arenanet could speak up and explain why thieves are being left so far in the dust… Or even better, let us know what they have in store for us to compensate for losing an entire spec line and our most important mechanic.

well i was playing d/d thief beta using the DD line and it worked pretty good. yes it was a condition build……

Well, it worked for me in that particular situation as well (I hope the devs don’t see it as a proof to further nerf thief) – just that I found the conversation rather funny. I was lucky to get that necro and I have quite a bit experience, it isn’t my class that did that.

Edit: I have no intention to go DD actually. I’m a power thief (power person, I like huge numbers) and the DD line wasn’t appealing to me as a D/D thief.

BWE3, including a focus on fighting Scrappers, Druids, Heralds.
the dev’s current response to our feedback.
the dev’s vision of the Thief, explained in details. The most important one.

If we don’t get the last one on lock, all our suggestions will be baseless and inaccurate.

I assume you do that as a Traps build? As much as I like the idea of Hybrid, it doesn’t seem to really work otherwise…

To keep us down they can ban us on the forums… Yeah that might provoke a refund or not buying the expansion, but the lose is like a drop in the ocean considering how many new players will join…

It would be nice of them to listen to anything or perhaps even respond to anything. But even that might even only partially happen. And that’s only because the elite spec is around.

The only way that they seemed to have listened was during the kitten storm when they announced the pre-purchase and the bundle that it had… But that essentially spread to everywhere – even a couple reddits, that got thousands of views. A fair portion of the community was in an uproar for a couple days, and only after that they decided to throw in 1 extra character slot (lol…).

Comparing that incident to the tiny corner that the thief’s forum is, we’re like dust mites squealing on the ground while they’re the giant humans. And no, the amount of us can’t even cause asthma.

Essentially, find a new game that’s more fitting to your liking while following this one along and enjoying the destructive development.

yeah trappers build. Again such a flexible set. Another good runeset for Hyrbrid is Adventurers which should work better in a DD spec. (if that new heal had a slightly lower channel time this would fill virtaully all endurance everytime you heal)

I did have one that used sinister prior to the last major patch but it did not work as well after. It was a set that used a lot of weapon switching to work so could be awkward to use.

I see possibilities for PP using trappers as a hybrid once DD comes out. This depends on when/if tweaks made to the set. The problem of course is INI in that set. I used briefly in the beta and it worked better than expected against those diamond skin eles.

headshot loaded both torment and PI and was quite nice to use.

Ok Ok!! I misread your post anyways. sometimes it hard now to know when a person talking about d/d or DD!
