Huge damage LOSS from taking Ankle Shots
Working as intended. Aiming for the ankles means you’re not aiming for the vitals anymore.
…
Arenanet, pls! Why is all vain?
Nameless Inversion/Ascension/Evasion/Ruination/Impression/Perdition/Compassion/Tactician
Guild Wars 2 will be an amazing game when it’s finished. Compare Prophecies to EotN!
Is that Karl’s middle finger I’m seeing with my psychic power ?
They removed Ankle shot bonus range by nerfing the alternate version of the pistol skills equipped when you use the trait. But they forgot to buff those alternate skills damage like the baseline skills were buffed.
It’s just a tool tip error. If you test your dps you’ll find that it does work and gives 10% more damage. But yea it gave me a scare too lol..

Not so sure it is, Just tried this out in the mists on the same dummy and on the Light dummy my Vital Shot autos were hitting 620-680 non-crit (above 50%) but after taking ankle shots my non-crit autos were only hitting for 450-515 (above 50%) this damage still doesn’t exceed the UN-traited value when the target has cripple on them.
It doesn’t matter.. Whoever picked Ankle Shot before wasn’t smart from the beginning.
Who in their right mind you would pick:
- a little 10% damage increase plus a 60 % chance ON CRIT ( they gave us a stupid cheap Sigil as a trait) to cripple a target for 3 kitten seconds… OH wait it’s on a 8 second ICD.
Before= garbage
and thanks to OP it’s safe to conclude that Now = still garbage
This is just pure garbage, and the Ankle Shot shouldn’t even be in our vocabulary anymore.
Stop using Pistol guys. The only they crippled with this Trait is the Critical Strikes Line itself.
Thief – Raiden Hayabusa
Thief – Gouki Kurokawa
I tested my dps on the invincible golems in pvp and saw about 10% more dps than without Ankle shot… But like Kocoff said it’s still useless and I would rather take that other trait that gives 10% to ferocity from precision.
