It was hilarious. Both OP builds going at each other. The condi evade DD was spamming lotus blossom and the condi chrono was spamming phatasms. The condi chronophatasm mes won in the end though.

Those builds are walking nightmares. And it was deeply satisfying watching both builds go at each other \o/

For the thief all you need is a well placed cc or Root and boom dead thief. They are pain but not invincible. Mesmer is a different story.

A regular condi Thief is annoying but not that OP, so it losing was kind of inevitable against the most cheesy thing that has ever existed in GW2 (condi Mesmer). Ghost Thief vs Condi Mesmer would have been more interesting.

The Mesmer would just take Inspiration and make the Ghost Thief’s burst irrelevant whilst the Mesmer wouldn’t be able to spawn any illusions because it wouldn’t have a target making the Mesmer’s burst irrelevant. It would be more of a question of who leaves the duel first.

Lol, druid root does nothing to evade thief. They can still spam Dagger #3 while immobilized, and it only takes one successful evade to cleanse the immobilize and send them on their way.

The evade off 3 dagger cleanses a condition, not necessarily an immobilize. It based on LIFO. Withdraw or RFI tend to be used for Immob clears.

I play a p/d thief that uses Immob against a d/d db thief and it kills them very effectively using immob.

To the OPS post, generally a thief with some healing that uses SOM while traiting GI can beat those mesmers or at least force the mesmer to break off and withdraw. It a long drawn out fight.

In skilled hands the D/D condi thief is not the strongest thief condi build IMO. I don’t struggle with them since the evasion portion has a hitch just before it lands. I find Ghost Thief hybrids more dangerous. Those builds stack a nice chunk of condi burst then apply pressure while a player is trying to clear.
