Hullo people

Okay, I’ve been in WvW the last couple of days now, but I’ve not been sure on how my build is.It doesn’t seem to hit as hard as I’d like.

Let me first state- This could be due to the fact that I’m missing my exotic trinkets (rings, amulet etc…) I plan on buying some tonight.

Anyhow here is my set up so far.

Armor/Weapons:

Using All beserker’s armor for power/precision/crit damage.

For runes I have Superior runes of the hoelbrak x6 which offer:

(1)25 Power
(2)
20% Might duration
(3)50 Power
(4) 5% chance to gain might when hit
(5)
90 Power
(6)-20% condition duration applied to myself

My weapons are both beserker’s for the power/precision/crit.

I use Superior Sigil of Bloodlust (+10 power for each foe killed, stacks to 25) on my main hand and Superior Sigil of Air on my offhand. (30% chance on crit to cause a lightning strike).

My secondary weapon is a shortbow focusing on power/precision/condition damage with Superior Sigil of Air.

My traits are as follows:

20 Deadly Arts -Mug for damage upon stealing and +5% dagger damage.

20 Critical Strikes -Furious Retaliation and Critical haste

30 Shadow Arts- Infusion of Shadow, Hidden Thief, and Shadow’s Rejuvenation

My Slot Skills are as follows…

6- Hide in Shadows

7- Blinding Powder

8- Shadow Refuge

9- Assassins Signet (which I swap out for Signet of Shadows for the paaive movement buff)

My Elite Skill is Thieves Guild.

I’m not concerned too much with survivability. I’m often alone, scouting, or taking out stragglers. When in groups, I usually go after the enemies that are trying to weaken our furthest reinforcements.

I’ve been jumped before and usually 8/10 times I manage to get away. Is my build decent, or are there things that could be added/swapped to make it a tad better? >.<

I enjoy the ability to get away when needed, but I don’t always feel like I hit hard enough. Maybe it takes practice, I don’t know. Any tips would be appreciated.

Sup fellow Coaster.

My build

I run a “beefy” backstab build, meaning I’m kitted with Valkyrie gear (power/vitality/critical damage). In WvW I generally run with Hide in Shadows, Blinding Powder, Assassin’s Signet, Signet of Shadows, and lately I’ve been using the “oh so terrible” Basilisk Venom to great effect.

My attack damage/power is sitting at 3.3k and my critical damage modifier is 100 (250%). My average backstab w/AS is about 8-9k on heavies, 10k on medium, and 11-13k on squishies . What I like about my setup is that if my opener doesn’t flat out down the player immediately, I have some staying power which allows me to keep the pressure up in a prolonged fight, lately I’ve been able to last in some 1v2s (and win) and 1v3s (usually only get like 1 stomp before I have to retreat). However, 90% of my 1v1 engagements don’t last more than 3-5 seconds. I’d also like to note that my build isn’t a one trick pony, there is plenty of damage to throw around even after the opener, provided my enemy is still on his/her feet.

I know all this information about my build probably isn’t what you’re looking for, but I found comparing my build to other thieves earlier in my thieving career really helped me put together and tweak the build that best supports my style of play, so maybe it’ll do the same for you.

Huzzah TC! ^.^

Thanks for this information. It does help a bit after looking over your particular build. It’s not 100% my style of playstyle but it does share some heavy ideals.

I was debating on a Valkyrie set, myself just for the health pool. As it stands, without an orb, I’m usually sitting at about 10.5k hp - 12k if we get an orb. >_<
