Really, who cares about pve? How can they nerf or buff something without messing with WvW and spvp?

it may not to you, but a lot of anet’s playerbase actually only cares about pve,
and they keep getting screwed over because of pvp balancing. pve balance
between classes is undeniably unbalanced and biased to a few others right now.
just take a look at dungeon grouping sites/ chat.

anet acknowledged the inherent difference between pve/pvp when they were
forced to split the skills in GW1. some skills scales well on both modes, some
are left unused since they are almost next to useless on the other.
they also started splitting the skills here as well (though very slowly)

as for wvw, there already have been numerous suggestions for it as well:
ranging from it doesn’t matter if they follow the pve skillset, to using the pvp
version of the skill with pve gear, to completely creating another skill split
for wvw for very tricky special skills, ect.

I did a survey a while back with 1000+ responses from members of the GW2 community. An overwhelming majority of players are in it for the PvE content and less than 10% are engaged in structured PvP.

so you know for a survery to be legit you need a randomized population of players. did you ask in an unbiased area or were you out in a pve area somewhere?

I loled.

An overwhelming majority of the players are “Forum Warriors”, “Forum thiefs”, “Forum Necros” and so on. So should all these useless thread that are on forum, and 90% are useless because its only whine, be counted as useful? You did a survey, good. Good for you mate. Im talking about real experience where 100% of my friends play for PvP/WvW and most of them left the game because of some factors like anet balancing. So if you are thief and you are crying about being underpowered, then reroll becaus eyou are doing something wrong.

but i don’t play your crappy PVP/WvW, where drama is every day and QQ everywhere and about anything
i am defending only the PVE thief i play, and i know it’s not OP here

This is actually a very biased study, not to mention a very small case-study. You’re right about forums not being objective either, but “real experience” isn’t either.

This will be an unbelievable buff to my thief (D/D signet of malice 0/0/10/30/30 super unicorn variant)

1 gets double the poison (on a condition damage build, hot kitten )
3 the cornerstone of you damage and self-heals is 20% cheaper/fires 25% more often
4 key to keeping enemies from wandering off gets 25% cheaper/33% more spamable while in pursuit
6 the passive heal that is already amazing with the right armor gets 33% better?

Throw in Slowed pulse is easier to trigger and a shorter cooldown on pain response…

Its like my own personal godmode.

I am 100% with you on this. I run a similar build and I am drooling over these changes. Please let these be the real patch notes.

Have fun killing anything outside a 1v1 that lasts for 10 minutes without any interference. In group play thats actually a pretty awesome build for running away!

There isn’t one, pistol still sucks until they actually sit down and figure out if they want it to be a direct dmg or condition weapon.

it’s not correct entirely. weakness was DOUBLED in strength. weakness from sword AA was not removed. that is actually huge.

either way, now this patch is not so bad…only disappointing part is short bow nerf.

Entirely was a wrong wording, but agree that it rly is almost the same. They probably tweaked a bit after the patch notes were leaked.

Entirely was a wrong wording, but agree that it rly is almost the same. They probably tweaked a bit after the patch notes were leaked.
