That is how the profession is built. Players are going to play the profession like they want and there is nothing you can do to change it except improve yourself.

If thieves frustrate you so much that you have to come on here and flame them, then you need to take a break from pvp or get a friend to help. Expecting anet to carry you through the game won’t get you what you want.

And FYI, this is a universal fact for every class on every MMO.

XD so thanks to the thief-scare. Everyone’s scared of thieves I tend to wear clothes on my alts that make me look like a thief. With the hood all in black etc. You definately catch them off guard when you suddenly turn out to be a D/F glass cannon

Anyways, I tried playing the thief and its way harder than everyone makes it out to be. It takes alot of skill but once you got the skill you can outclass seemingly anybody. But knowing how much effort is put into it… Its crazy fighting an actual experienced thief which is basically only the case 1 maybe 2 out of 10 times. I’m sure you all belong to the 1 or 2 experienced thieves right?

So on my warrio this is what I do when holding a point:
Walk to point – alt tab to check facebook and occassionally come back to see if warrior is still alive. Because basically nothing can take down a tanky warrior.

Try doing that on a thief and its an intirely different story but I don’t hear you flaming warriors for their brainless auto-attacking.

I hate thieves, I really do. That’s why I rolled one last year but, stopped leveling it in the 20’s. Well, last week I said the heck with it, time to level it up. Popped a B-day booster and EotM zerg leveled to 80 in 3 days. Been in hot join sPvP for about a total of 4 hrs when a Warrior called me “the most annoying thief ever!”

Admittedly, at the time I was trying out a p/d condi build traited for stealth. We were in Sky Hammer no less and I just couldn’t resist focusing this warrior the entire match.

Most hate wsp’s i get are from thieves…
especially if they are in a group of thieves and you manage to kill one lol. After which I promptly turned around and ran back into my tower. Got wsp’d calling me a noob for running into the tower instead of dying to his friends. o.O “Keep running into the tower noob, that’s how you won”

And then there was this thief who was /laugh spamming and /beckon a necro. So i came in interrupted him with my shield bash at which point he turned tail, stealthed and ran. I was peace-ing out in the tower nearby when i see the necro fighting him again. I could see he was at about 10% health, and I wanted a loot bag so I ran down and threw my GS at him, which downed him(he was going down to conditions anyway). I let the necro stomp him. So i went back to the tower and was afk for a bit, and when i came back, he had brought 4 friends and he was wsp’ing me.

“Oh you suck. You and that noob necro had to double team me. Go l2p.”

I didn’t even do anything o.O all i wanted was a loot bag…i dunno why he didn’t wsp the necro when he clearly lost to him.

Anyway so he thought i was ignoring him or something, cuz his rants started to get more….fancy…with a lot of “elegant words” thrown in.

I asked him why he lost to us, if we were so bad. Unfortunatley, he was more interested in calling me names than answering me.

So i admit i thought this was funny, so I started /laugh spamming @ him. Suffice to say, he got more flustered(“Why you laughing with me?” “Thanks for laughing with me”), and his friends started joining in too…anyway…they were so intent on hating me, they didn’t see my zerg steam roll them from behind. At which point I /laugh spammed again.

The only class to ever wsp me when i killed them in wvw were theives(not that i could kill a lot). and a ranger who i shot with a ballista cuz it was funny.

When i stomp someone with my Llama finisher I immediately do /dance. Thats the time when they go instamad and start whispering me kittening stuff.

Just had this one now, kinda kittened me off to be fair because it couldn’t be farther from the truth.

It was 4v1, a ganksquad obviously sitting on teamspeak and I lost, but I gave them a fight as they jumped me and it seemed to have upset them to the point they spammed /laugh on my corpse, nothing new though. I go throught this everyday in WvW.

People think Thief is in the same position it was in during launch, sure, still excells at ganking (some) people, but people should stop complaining already. If I win, I probably deserved to win, imo.

I don’t “incompetently spam” anything, and neither does any thief who knows how to play. You gotta admit that the only reason people like you complain about thieves as if it’s going out of style, is because you have no idea how to play against one. Wait, hold on. Before you reply, just let me guess what you’re going to say. Something along the lines of “No no, I don’t have a problem killing thieves. I kill bad thieves ALL the time. They’re just annoying to fight and heartseeker spam with their S/X builds.” I’ll save you the trouble, and tell you that all of the thief players on this forum will laugh at you, probably make a few comments about how you have no idea what you’re talking about, perhaps offer some advice to help you cope, and then assure you that the reason you lose to GOOD thieves, is because they are simply better than you. And they always will be, at least until you decide to stop posting your nonsensical trash on the forum, roll a thief, and learn how to counter-play against our “broken OP class.”

I’ve never actually been hate whispered once while on my thief.

I actually recently got whispered by a warrior I killed who congratulated me by stating that he had never died so quickly and wanted to make a thief like mine.

I think it’s because I run honorable D/D stab with no stealth except for CnD and don’t spam 222222 or in d/p’s case, 52222222252222222.

Hmmm the amount of hate comments I got from thieves because I use PU for decoy and massinvisibility (only need to use massinvisibility 10% of the time vs them but usually kill em without using it) were the best, it’s really satisfying. ;o

Recently, people from Crystal Desert have been the rude kind of people, and when you get mowed over by a zerg they laugh and do other lame emotes. So, I figured why not return the favor when I beat their people. Which I got this whisper in response to one fight after beating a War and Engi fighting together with their guards at Bay to back them up – “You don’t win a lot of 2v1’s do you?” – because I laughed emoted – which I replied “I win them a lot, good job though.”

Another stream of comments I received were pretty bad from a Yak’s Bend guy, another rude server. I attached pictures of these. He sent me these whispers and blocked me right after so I couldn’t respond, not that I would even want to respond to this filth. Mind you I didn’t even know who this was out of a zerg I was fighting against. Anyway, I didn’t run away or die like he claims, I was fighting their zerg in front of a tower and just proceeded to pick people off.

In my case it usually involves mesmers and shortbow.

I just got called a 3 spammer by a D/P Thief of all people.. for using S/P

but when I own them on my Thief;

“permastealth is for noobs”
“kittening blind bot”

Oh well, life goes on.

Sooooooo true, some classes get more praise than others, for example in a tournament on my ele i have had " your ele carried you".

but on a thief when a warrior ran away with 25-30% hp ye i spammed HS at 25% hp its highest dps and a gap closer. only to recieve the reply " HS spamming noob". to which i replied “YEYA” and spammed HS to finish him rather than stomp him :p such lols
