If you play thief you know that if you press a button twice then the skill will go off twice. Some may call this skill queuing and if done by accident this can be really annoying. Just wanted to see what everyone else thought on this and would like to know if you think it should go.

I don’t think there’s any situation in which skill queuing is beneficial.

It should try to activate a weapon skill when: You are trying to activate a skill and aren’t using one yet, or you’re 1/4 (?) second away from finishing your skill (so you can SLIGHTLY pre-cast so you don’t have to perfectly time the button press in order to not waste time). NOT while you’re already using a skill, unless it’s a long cast time skill that’s almost done.

EDIT: It’s arguably a L2P issue, but it would certainly be an appreciated QOL change. Mistakes in skill use can and do happen, no matter who you are.

skill queuing is beneficial for people with skill lags, whether those stem from a bad connection or simply because ANets servers seem to have gotten worse and worse in the past few months.

for the first two years I only noticed lags in large wvw battles, never in other events. even after megaserver, everything went smooth. now I get skill lags from 1-3 seconds even at world bosses like the mk2 golem (good luck dodging the knockbacks with such a variance in lag). on certain classes this is very noticable. I’ve been trying ranger with sword and since you have to deactivate the auto attack you either precast or waste nearly 50% of your attack time due to the fast hitting attacks.

in an ideal world with good server infrastructure and network optimization I’d be against queuing, but as it stands, I’m rather fond of it. though I don’t really care about it on thief, it’s far more noticeable on other classes for me.

What skills do you “accidentally” press twice?

My only qualm against queueing is when I press 3 skills and it only fires two out of three, which it seems that it can only queue a maximum of two skill press — which is rather low. With Thieves, I should be able to queue 4-5 skills that will fire in flawless successions.

At the very least remove skill queuing for Headshot (d/p #4). As this skill is almost only used to interupt the enemies skills and generally needs to be precise, It can be difficult to use effectively when you have to wait 1s~ for 1 or 2 skills to be used before Headshot goes off

This is more about the pre- and after-cast delays. The skill waits for the character’s animation, in the case of Headshot — aim with the pistol, before firing the skill.

I agree that our interrupt skill should not be put in queue, rather it should be prioritized.
