In a thread over in the PvP section of the forum, it looks like the developers are going to be balancing PvE, WvW, and PvP separately for this next patch. I thought it might be good to start a thread so that the PvE/dungeon Thief community could make some suggestions as to how to re-balance the PvE class in light of this new information.

My suggestions are just to revert some of the prior largely WvW/PvP driven changes:

Revert the 4 second reveal debuff back to 3 seconds.
Revert the change to the stealth aggro table mechanics.
Revert the change to pistol whip.

These changes would greatly enhance my playing experience and would not be game breakingly overpowered for PvE only, since they weren’t when they were in the game previously. Anyone else have suggestions?

reduce the sword damage and Lbd damage nerfs to 25% instead of 50%. (im refering to the flat damage cuts from way back when). Reduce dancing dagger’s initiative costs. Revert damage nerf on pistol whip since quickness was nerfed.
Additionally add passive bonus to venoms, make trap activation areas on par with rangers, allow stealth perks(auto-crits, regen, et merda) to be transferred to other players when stealthed by a thief, debug scorpion wire and drop its CD, give summoned thieves a dodge mechanic, unkitten flanking strike, buff shortow’s trick shot damage and poison damage so its viable for ranged damage, rescale pistol damage, and we’re still waiting on your supposed mobility buff.
Lastly, backstab damage should be on par with a warrior’s eviscerate, considering they take similar amounts of time to execute.

I only ask one thing… Please rebalance theives so that Dagger builds r not the top build.

I want some variety with the other wepaon builds being viable… Please to god dont let Theives go the same way as Rogeus in Wow where we only had 1 viable build!!!

People on the forums already saying that they kick anyone who uses P as a mainhand. Which is sad.

D/d should not see any further nerf. It’s barely viable in pve as is.

Yes, yes, and yes. It’s sad to see that the major improvements needed to thieves in PvE are reversions—that speaks volumes in itself—but this would be an excellent place to start.
