Guild Wars 2

Hello all new to the game and really enjoying myself. Ran into some one in the chat who told me thief is not valued in Raiding. Is it a bad pve class? Im trying a guardian currently which is lots of fun and id like to try thief out but not if he will get declined from raid invites. Can anyone confirm this?

You could peruse the Thief sub-forum, or the Raids sub-forum for opinions on the Thief profession (in Raids or general PvE/PvP).

Also, you can play whatever you choose, with whatever build you choose, and always form your own groups in the LFG.

Current raid meta is chrono/druid/berserker/tempest.

But personally, I am not against the idea of having thief taking the dps role. The rotation is much easier to maintain compared to tempest. It is also easier profession for starters given the amount of dodges you have.

we use thief in a couple of fights in raid, we use it on sabetha, gorseval, macLeod, keep construct and xera. it is 5 bosses out of 9

A guild might let you play thief however in 99.99% cases only classes you will be allowed to play in raids atm are chrono, tempest, ps war and druid, in VG and escort you may play engi/necro but that is about it.

If a guild ‘might let you play’ what you want to, get another guild.

Thief is fine as a DPS, easier then Tempest, and often similar or slightly higher damage because the rotation is easier to maintain.

Thief has very little overlap so even though it is a strong DPS build it isn’t buffing the players around them like every other class can.
