So its no secret that teef is weak. in fact its so weak that i think it needs to be completely reworked. One extra dodge roll is hardly a spec, we had that some time back anyway. It just needs to change, it is no good and everyone hates it.

Lets be honest, the chances of arenanet doing anything for the thief when it comes to buffs or reworks its probably 1-2 years away (that is if they don’t just delete the profession and send us an e-mail saying “we are sorry, here have an engi”).
Do what i did, take your ascended armor, change it to vipers, get trinkets, put it on your engi. BOM, u can now do raids (hell you can do everything).

He is right this class is done for and the thief devs are nowhere to be seen.
I guess the best solution here is really re-roll to something else.
I re-rolled to chronomancer, its the greatest fun I had in a long time and I am usefull to other players.
Of course you can also stop playing guildwars or try to get in touch with the devs.
Sadly, I have to agree that for the time being, it’s easier to ‘reroll’.
I’m also about to change my gear to vipers, for an engineer. Which can in fact also work for some gimmicky wvw play on the thief.
I decided to stick to the medium armour classes, so trying thief stuff will stay possible and I can easily use the gear on all three chars. I’m still working on the druid spec/setup I like!
I play other classes but it is just no fun. If by the time i finish legendary stuff nothing improves, i am out of this game. I know Anet won’t care since they already made money off me, it is just sad to see this great game (best mmo game i played in years) turn into complete garbage.
It is not even about thief itself, meta atm is just unenjoyable no matter what class you play (aoe, cc spam, tanky builds doing zerker dmg etc.). Thief being lackluster is just cherry on the top. Add crappy pvp system (whaky matchmaking, no soloq etc.) and it is just “to hell” with this game :/
