So who is going to respecc condi now, if you haven’t already. If I calculate it right, it ain’t worth it anymore going mixed power gear, basically it is going to be full zerker or go home for power roamers.

I just don’t see any reason at all anymore to not run a condi warrior anymore. I am thinking of a sword/sword – sword/shield warrior, bleed and torment stacking and poison on weaponswap. Might even mix in perplexity runes. Looks real tanky and high damage.

Yea funny thing is, they want to hit zerker to promote tanky builds more but actually are hitting the tanky builds harder. So far the logic of Anet I guess. For a full zerker build this ain’t really an issue no. Especially not when running full ascended, your damage will just drop to the days with exotic and ascended trinkets.

Only problem for roaming was that condi builds were already slightly stronger in 1vs1 situations. Now by nerfing power builds, they are definitely stronger.

I am not complaining tho, I just had more fun with my power builds than my condi builds. I already have +-25 ascended trinkets both for condi as for power builds and around 30 exotic weapons and 9 armor sets, so I can easily adjust.

It is just that I think condi specs are incredibly easy to play and really boring aswel. But yea, that is just my opinion and it hurts that they took my other options (power) away.

I’m considering quitting the game unless my siphoning necromancer has a net (no pun intended unfortunately) improvement from the other changes being made or anet lets us switch any stats that has critical damage in it. If I don’t receive either of these after just recently finishing my ascended armor, I’m going to call it a day. Building around conditions is not my style at all and any class I made that used bunker conditions had it’s gear salvaged and it’s runes sold in less than a month or so.

My necromancer is hybrid utilizing clerics, zerker, and celestial so that she can deal some sustained damage while healing up for a moderate amount but from what little I’ve heard, her 70 crit damage is going down the gutter. My warrior which as I stated was my first condi bunker was the most face roll thing I’ve played next to my regen ranger so I’m on the fence bad this time.

I’ve been roaming on my warrior using full Zerker + defensive traits to create a hybrid build, and it’s been working pretty nicely for me. If my damage drops much though, it’s going to probably be worthless to run my build over a condition build (I was thinking sword/sword as well, with a longbow swap, until I heard the bit about a pin down cast time increase… it’s already pretty easy to dodge). I’m already sacrificing defensive stats that condition builds can keep and still do full condition damage… the power of dire gear far surpasses that of soldier. I don’t really care about this for PVE, but for WvW this is pretty depressing.

Ouch, celestial is gona get hit even harder, because the % crit dmg/stat was pretty good and now they are going to drop it to a value comparable to the other stats. In other words, the change will drop your damage even more compared to zerker.

They still weren’t clear about how this would really effect PvE and WvW. I felt like they said 10% damage as an arbitrary number with no context. So I reserve any judgments until then.

And I refuse to run condi warrior because it is just pure cheese and is just simply very boring.

100% correct, that is why builds using a mix of knight and zerker and zerker trinkets will get a damage cut way higher than full zerker builds. It will be something around 15-20%. Which means your damage will be too low, because you only barely have enough damage by carefully balancing defense and offense.

So in other words Anet is shooting itself in the foot by nerfing semi tanky builds, something they actually want to promote???!!

Not Guardians. Without condition builds available, and with the nerfs in damage, vigor cooldown and selfness Daring roaming Guardians will be a extincted race.

The patch will both damage build diversity, skill and the previous efforts from tons of players to gear up their characters and builds. Is such an epic disaster.

I’m not sure what there intentions are — it’s true that there needs to be some changes to promote build diversity in PVE, but this is more so a symptom of poor dungeon/encounter design.

Condi roaming has been the way to go for some months now, I was honestly anticipating a nerf — I’m shocked.

Its only a 10% dmg nerf in MAX GROUP SETTINGS. That means 25might/vuln/banners/spotter/etc. Even if it was a flat “youll have 10% less crit dmg” you’d have to have 100% crit chance for it to be a 10% dmg nerf. Worst case scenario youll have to do an extra auto to down someone. (Not so much tho now that i can have impact/air on my hammer now)

All in all, we need to wait for Tuesday to see how this affects things before crying how OP condi is.

I’m not sure anyone is crying about how OP condition is, but it’s needed an adjustment for almost as long as perplexity runes have existed — this is just going to exacerbate an existing problem.

Everyone that knows me knows that I shelved my condi ranger almost 7 months ago for that exact reason.

The condi vid was not a vid, it was a clip that I was doing bc I was asked to theory craft a build that was different and to showcase it. It was literally so stupid that I couldn’t play it for more than a day, and went back to my normal build.

I have to agree with furajir, 80% of condi builds are stupid to play, including warrior condi. People say warriors in general are easy and so faceroll to play, when many condi builds in general are just cheesy to play. I don’t know how people can possibly have fun with most condition builds (esp warrior condi which is at the top of the list of dumb along with thief, mesmer, engi) but I guess if they are actually killing a lot of people for once in their lives who am I to knock them.

That is just me though.

I can’t wait for the day where I won’t have to pack Runes of Lyssa, SoS, Cleansing Ire and Zerker Stance all in the same build just to combat how prevalent conditions are.

I don’t play a condition warrior either, but I’m not going to lie to myself and claim that condition builds don’t put up more a challenge than traditional power builds (see: condi nades and condi stealth/clone builds) — I’ve been expecting a nerf imminently for it, so I agree with you 100% that something is going to change.
