Oh and I’d still like to point out that I have yet to see someone or a dev for that matter point me towards a build without frenzy that’s going to beat a pro ele, mesmer, engineer or guardian.

That reflhex dude just keeps going on about his gw1 past in different threads. I won nationcup in UT99 when I was like 15-16, that doesn’t mean it carries over to GW2. That dude is a hotjoin scrub who has 15 tourna wins on warrior and he has the nerve to start teaching warriors who have over 1k playtime and hundreds of games/wins on warrior.

Or was it the only build that was really put into meta and played thoroughly through and built well that everyone just assumed to be good thus making everything else somewhat go unplayed and underdeveloped as far as builds goes?

Maybe now people will not spec gsword as much and move to some other weapons and figure out other good combos that would not have been found otherwise since they would have stuck with the gsword the entire time. Godsword or greatsword? We’ll just call them godswords. I for one used mace/shield and hammer with all control utilities in tpvp with no problems, worked extremely well actually because you got enough control to lock someone till they die pretty much I think it was 7 control skills on those sets… maybe more maybe like 9.

thats a bad argument, people used it because everything else we can do other classes can pull off better, 100b>frenzy was one of the best bursts in the game, one of the few counters to a d/d ele.
i mainly play warrior, and i only play pvp, i’ve tried every build you can think of, sword/longbow is decent, but if you want conditions there are far better classes,
hammer CC is decent, but if you want CC there are much better classes.
AKA if you play warrior you’re already handicapped / playing a warrior is a bad decision.

Exactly, he thinks that the most of us used 100b spec was because we thought “Oh, this is OP and easy to play, I’ll only use this build”. We used that build, because everything else we tried was pretty much rubbish and the glass 100b was the only one that could be up to par with other classes. Although it was still one of the weakest 1v1 specs and only shined when used together with good teamsupport.

100% agree. Can’t stand people who call you out, “100b noob zomg!” That was the Warrior’s hardest hitting ability and the only thing that made them viable in the meta / 1v1s. Not using 100b is like asking a thief to not use stealth, a mesmer to not use clones, or an elementalist to use a build other than a close approximation to 0/0/10/30/30.

I, like you Psybunny, used many different builds on my warrior to try them out. But at the end of the day GS / Axe+Shield was always the best for me. And I was okay with that because I loved the play style. Warriors were UP and challenging, requiring finesse and skill to land the appropriate combos on a skilled opponent. It was all the more satisfying killing the other classes in 1v1s of 1vXs.

Now I’m forced to play some stupid CC + shout build in WvW because my personal playstyle/meta is completely broken.

Even vithout stability, there is no chance to land long and slow mace swing (ultra long “telegraphed” bad animation) stun even on average player.

bring back i will avenge you it has regen for 10s with cleric trinkets you can be a bunker warrior or buff shout with regen for 5s instead putting regen boon in banner put it on shout grand master trait has regen and heal

LOL dude so what happens when stability runs out? By the time I am done blocking and avoiding his attacks his stability is down (excluding rangers). You can’t just say they need buff if you legitimately have not played around with every weapon and tried different builds extensively. Although a trait that gives protection on dodge and a trait that removes conditions periodically would be nice

That’s very kind, any chance you could do it from a team/tourny/match play perspective instead of a 1v1?

It’s just that a selected 1v1 where a stun/burst combo comes off wouldn’t really show much in terms of viability.

You have like 3k more HP than him and I didn’t see him lose conditions at the beginning of the first video so he must not have that auto shrug it off trait? Definitely leg specialist though and if you only take 10 points in tactics it’s still about 1K more health than he has in the video.

EDIT: looks like he does have the shout heal trait though

Lol yea that was spec I was running with in video but its trash for team I run different trait setups then that for more dps because thats main goal in team fights of warrs.

Those who think Warriors are fine either don’t pvp competitively or they simply don’t play a warrior. Switched over to my necro and now I just LOL when I get to go toe to toe with warriors. They don’t have a chance in hell of beating me.

BUT BUT you have mobile strikes. PLEASE folks… our movement skills range get effectively cut in half if we’re chilled or crippled so it makes little difference. The whole time you have 2-3 people AT RANGE poking at you. You drop conditions with mending or whatever and that crap is RIGHT BACK ON YOU in seconds. Give me a break.
The only reason warriors were EVER feared was because of frenzy and you know it! Now they’re a kitten joke. Dont give me the “other viable builds” crap. They dont exists because whatever you’re trying to accomplish, I promise you another class can do it twice as good in pvp.
