Dogged March
Its the same trait elementalist’s get.

That trait is insanely good. It stacks additively with all other condi removal and reduces any cripple and immob to basically nothing!
I had a feeling this was the case.
Runes of Melandru + Bowl of Lemongrass Poultry Soup + Dogged March = immune to cripple, chilled and immobilize.
I am unstoppable.

I just pvped with all three, not the case.
The problem with it is, you still don’t have sustain.

hey guys, I’m not a pro gamer or GW vet but I use typical glass cannon build with melandru runes and zerker amulet for spvp. ever since dropping 10 points from STR into defense for this trait it has become incredibly easier to play warrior and i feel they might become kings of spvp.
although I miss my bull’s charge criting for insane damage.

Dogged March is a must have for ANY warrior, it is THAT good.

They prolly had plus condition duration. And we will not be getting sustain anytime soon. If you want sustain go play guardian. Warrior is meant to be a heavy DPS class.

If you tested in PvP then you didn’t have the soup. That will be a WvW thing only.
I’m guessing they might look at toning that down, but I’m going to use it on my warrior while I can. Just need to go farm that dumb lemongrass…

I actually tried this combination and went full defense/tactics and hammer mace/shield with shouts heal build for testing purposes. Full soldier built, ascended everything, i actually had a lot of sustain and a lot of grp support.

Shout healing is good group support? Did they delete Elementalists and Guardians this patch as well?
So in soldier’s gear you would be getting a lil over a thousand health per shout? Sounds terrible.
Been running a rabid sword+warhor/shield (rifle in inventory), 30 arms, 30 defense, 10 tactics. Dogged march, leg specialist, shield specialist, embrace pain, deep cuts…why do warriors have so many great traits? Coming from a necro it is like a candy store of goodness.
Coming from a necro it is like a candy store of goodness.
Not a fair comparison where so many Necro traits are just plain broken or actually have potential to hurt the playstyle because they are baseline in traits… I do like the Necro for a completely different (aggressive) style though.

I think after launch shouts were doing 2k heals or so then that was nerfed into the ground.

Yeah, I raced to 80 during the 3 day headstart, and I was a shout healing Soldier/Cleric setup, running dungeons, mostly. The heals where about 2.5k and the shout cooldowns were shorter as well.

I don’t think they have changed ever. The reason you got 2k is because you used cleric armor. You can still get 2k if you use it.

I don’t even remember it on any patch notes, but it changed.
I remember clearly having 17 seconds CD (traited) per FGJ and Shake it Off, and healing me for around 2k-2.5k.. That same setup now heals me for 1.8k-2k. This was very early after launch, when “On My Mark” was “I Will Avenge You”.

Shouts with full exo cleric and defense line with the saffron icecream hit for around 3k per. The cooldown is too long and you are forced to pop them for heals thus sometimes wasting their main boon.
Banner warrior with the healing stat hits for around 320 per second totaling around 1k every 3 seconds. Banners now have high stats and the best banner gives you 8% crit chance (180 precision) and 10% crit damage at 80 for your full party.
Having said that, eles with similar heavy healing can do much more healing and bring in way more boons than a support warrior.
I play both in WvW where the abuse of asc gear and food comes in and there is no comparison.
As a Power Necro with imobilize, fear, and chills, Dogged March really helps Warriors against me. I’ve lost to quite a few Warriors recently because I can’t keep them away. They are free to Evis, WW, and Rush without worry.

my guardians rolls heal for almost 1700, I also run sigils of energy on each set so I can spam roll accomponied with my vigor I can also roll more often then warriors can shout.
The problem isn’t healing, it is sustain. We have no protection, the difference in heavy armor to light armor is hardly noticeable, no aegis boons. Our sustain are endure pain and shield stance. Both very circumstantial as you can still get crowd controlled in them, and have conditions applied.
I just want something to grant protection and I think I would be happy.

Well, if they are going to buff the signet’s healing for non-clerics. Warrior should have plenty of “sustain”. No need for protection with almost 30k health imo.

IIRC that wasn’t a direct change to shouts but maybe something to do with healing power in general? So it probably wouldn’t be under ‘warrior’ in patch notes.

must be.. well shouts before was OP. Besides the shorter CD, they had 1600 range and more than 5 teammates affected.
As for Dogged March, at least, to me, it is a buff in the right direction. A lot of the movement conditions I can now ‘wait out’ before I pop condition cleansers.
I’m done playing around with control specs of varying builds (tanky, balanced, zerker), and trying out a sword+shield/GS in mix Rabid/PvT/Knight setup focused on mobility, hit and run gameplay. I know, condi damage is really poor on warriors, but I just had to try it (in WvW).
No matter how I look at it, Leg Specialist is still far more indispensable in the builds I run. On top of it, there isn’t a single traitline I can sacrifice 10 points from with a straight face.

…but if you did, you’d probably want to put those points in defence rather than tactics, or you’d be stuck with leg specialist anyway.
My beef with the trait is that it’s most useful for aggressive, roaming builds (though not only). On the other hand other traits elsewhere are just as productive, and having a choice between actually securing a kill when I’m not slowed down, or reducing the chance of being slowed down but having no way to lock down the target for the kill ... well, I think the choice is obvious.

While the immob is nice, you don’t absolutely need it.
Not absolutely, yes.
The trait itself however gives you many options throughout whole duration of a fight as you burn through skills, cooldowns and dodges, while your enemy patiently waits for a chance to escape or nuke you when you’re powerless to stop it.
It also has a great teamfighting potential, saving or nuking a svanir/npc, punishing bad positioning and setting up kills for other members when you’re not in a fighting condition yourself.
Compared to that, DM is a very selfish trait totally reliant on you making most use of it, and totally vulnerable to enemy accounting for condition reduction in advance and nullifying your advantage by setting favourable conditions before a fight.
LS on the other hand has the power to change the flow of battle all by itself, when enemy has burned blocks, evades and dodges, or took an unnecessary risk.
My final conclusion is that DM is not necessarily a bad trait for 10 points in Defence, but the high alternative cost of picking something else (Missile Deflection, another traitline) is dragging it down.
I’m open to builds that make best use of this trait, however.
TBH I quite like having traits for different circumstances in the same slot(s), means I can have the same stat allocation for slightly different builds and swap to a different approach between combat. The reflection when blocking is one of my favourites (especially if mace/shield since the mace block can’t counter-attack outside of melee range and thus reflects projectiles for its duration) but at the same time, if I was having trouble with being snared I could swap for DM, if I’m using stances I can swap the duration in, or EtP if I ever had trouble gathering adrenaline for some reason (okay that part may be reaching).

If you are running leg specialist with GS then you have instant removal of those effects on demand as well as gap closers -which is the whole point behind bogged march-. This is obviously much better than this -leg specialist doesn’t remove chill- Bogged is inferior to this. I think it was introduced for hammer warriors.
Leg Specialist is actually a trait I’d almost never go without in WvW. One well timed one-second pin can be game over for some.

We also don’t have there condition removal, many people overlook this but its actually huge.
